118 WH ext

You won’t find this baby in MLS, no sir, she is a Hip Pocket with Brian Davis over at Dave Perry-Miller. I just happened to spot her and nabbed her for a quick post. I mean, how damn cute can a house get and be so historical???

Here is what I know… it’s a three bedroom, two bath of 1800 square feet listed for $407,000. That master closet looks pretty nice, even though it is crammed (oh you should see my closet, no you should not!) and I am loving the redone master plus that kitchen!118 WH porch

5847 St Marks Cir Backyard

By the time my husband gets home from work it’s just minutes from being pitch dark outside, so what I really wish we could have would be walls of windows in our home that would make the most of every hour of waning sunlight.

5847 St Marks Cir Sunroom

Just my luck, this incredible contemporary home in St. Mark’s Circle just came on the market. It’s listed by Lydia Player, an Ebby Halliday agent who knows the Preston Hollow area like the back of her hand.

While the master bath leaves much to be desired, I love all of the windows, which make not only make the most of sunlight, but they also capitalize on the views of the gorgeous and lush backyard.

5847 Courtyard

This house is priced at $900,000, which is fair considering the high-traffic nature of the neighborhood. The house is a matter of yards away from St. Mark’s School of Texas — an all-male private college preparatory school. The location is both a blessing and a curse in that it’s incredible accessible being so close to Preston Road, but there’ll be tons of traffic, too.

Otherwise, this home is right up my alley — or should I say, circle?

In honor of Thanksgiving, we’ve picked out a few of the most incredible kitchens and dining rooms Dallas has to offer as sites for our dream turkey dinner. They are truly a feast for the eyes! Enjoy, and Happy Thanksgiving!

9008 Briarwood Lane: This house has a stunning dining and kitchen combo, both with beautiful blue hues on both the dining room wallpaper and the kitchen cabinets. Also amazing are the chandelier and fireplace in the dining room. Surreal!

Platinum Series Kitchens by Mark Molthan: All of these kitchens are perfect for preparing your elaborate Thanksgiving dinner, but this one, with the bright lime bar and gorgeous cabinets, is incredible!

9784 Audubon Place: With an amazing wood ceiling and gorgeous cabinetry, I would be hard pressed to actually leave the kitchen at this home! It’s also open to the dining room, which will make serving a gigantic turkey that much easier!

4346 Park Lane: Christine McKenny with Dave Perry-Miller gets some of the most amazing listings, and this house is no joke. The kitchen has a not-too-often seen feature — curved cabinetry  — that looks so elegant.

Tatum Brown’s Crestbrook Residence: This kitchen is just so sleek and perfect, and there’s a TV just above the fireplace, so you can watch the game while you do prep work (just watch your fingers with that knife, please!).

Phil Romano’s Strait Lane Estate: There’s no outdoing this kitchen and dining room, which makes entertaining feel more like eating at a restaurant. The stainless steel buffet and counter-height tables make serving a snap!

UPDATE: Scott Carlson himself points out the updated listing in the comments. There are several gorgeous photos of the property! Check them out!

I can’t really call it “House Porn” if there’s only one photo, right? I guess you’ll have to wait for an open house to see the insides of 2605 Winsted, an amazing Art Deco two-story that was built in 1939.

As the listing from our fine friends at Scott Carlson tells us, this home is considered a bona fide Art Deco design, all 3,374 square feet of it. The house, which sits on a little less than half an acre, was listed just yesterday. Considering the view this amazing abode has of Tokalon Park, and it’s proximity to everything everyone loves about Lakewood, I doubt this beauty will be on the market for long.

And while this four-bedroom, three-and-a-half bath house with a pool is listed at $1.1 million, I bet the selling prices is closer to $1 million even. Takers?

I’m taking some classes over at UTA, so I thought I’d throw Arlington some love today. First of all, the house is HUGE. This jewel is 4,627 sq. ft. with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and 2 half baths, so let’s just say you’ll have plenty of places to hide if you some “me time” away from the fam.

Listed at $725k by Nathan Neely and located inside a gated community with a private pond, pool, cabana AND dry sauna in the master, 2642 Hemingway Ct is like having your own mini resort.

There’s an amazing view onto the property from the living room, but I can’t tell because I’m just too distracted by that enormous Christmas tree. Oh, and the purple couches. Yikes. And if you’re like me and you don’t dig purple or the rest of the color palette from the early 90s, hold on to your hats.

Did I mention this place is beautifully landscaped and has a pond and a sauna?

Despite what the decor is screaming, this home was built in 2002. However, it’s nothing some paint and Z Gallerie can’t fix to bring you back into this decade. It’s been reduced from $799,000 to to $725,00 and is listed on TAD as being valued at $971,800. That’s a steal! So take your savings and go crazy—hire someone to decorate it for you. Meanwhile, you can always enjoy the view or a nice cold Mojito in the suana.

I’m mixing it up a little this week, mostly because I’ve been inspired. While driving home from White Rock Coffee a few weeks ago with my pal Joanna England, we passed this amazing house on East Lake Highlands. I don’t know if you’ve realized this about me yet, but I kinda dig mid-century modern design, and this place is THE perfect mid-century model without having to pour in all the money of updating an older home.

It’s listed by David Collier at David Griffin and Company Realtors for $550,00. There’s no pictures listed yet, but you can see plans online. Turns out, it was designed by architect extraordinaire Cliff Welch. I went to his website and checked out his design portfolio, and folks, this guy is kind of a badass.

According to Art House Dallas:

“His firm’s focus is modern architecture, concentrating on residential, interiors, and small-scale commercial work. He has been a leading resource and proponent for the restoration and preservation of post-war modernism in Dallas.”

Look at all those clean lines…I’m in heaven!

A Tyler, Texas native, Cliff has local and national design accolades coming out the wazoo. And this is how I know this guy is cool: he also designs tree houses. Cliff, meet your new biggest fan.

Guys, I’m in love yet again. Sitting on almost a half acre with a park view, 3860 Shorecrest Dr.–listed by Ebby’s Linda Jordan Hobbs–is just a hop, skip and a jump from Bachman Lake. Built in 1948, this gorgeous early mid-century modern feels like a livable work of art. Every time I went back through the property photos, I noticed another unique detail that I hadn’t before.

Linda mentioned that this home was also formerly owned by a famous singer/songwriter, but I waiting for confirmation on that little tidbit.

I’m digging the funky-shaped windows above some of the doorways.

The first of two living areas has high, wood ceilings , skylights and gallery-style lighting to draw attention to your personal collection. The flooring in most of the house is cork, but I love the contoured steps leading to the kitchen/dining areas, which are floored in polished concrete.

The second living area provides more space for all of your priceless collectibles.

The kitchen has unique concret countertops, plenty of work space, a walk-in pantry and lots of built-ins for storage. And look at all those windows! It also has a built-in icemaker and refrigerator.

The 20×16 master bedroom has lots of natural light and its own fireplace. How romantic!

The master bath is equipped with a walk-in shower and a spa-inspired bathtub, as well a beautiful view of the backyard … and a sculpture that is just human-shaped enough to scare the hell of you at night or any other time you forget it’s there.

This master bathroom is rounded out by COMPLETELY separate his/her vanities…for those mornings you’re just not ready to look at each other.

With three patios, this place has more than enough room to entertain. The backyard also features a Koi pond with waterfall.

I really would have liked to see this home staged, but with so many unique features, the home speaks for itself, particularly with the most stylish carport I’ve ever seen. The owner lives in Florida, so I’m sure that where the furniture is as well. Linda said most of the yard art will stay with the house, so in that case, I would relocate the piece in front of the master bathroom window. Just a suggestion.

Listed at $589,000, this home is currently under option. But just in case the deal falls through, I’d put Linda on speed dial.
