Fans of the ‘Fort Worth Love List’ Will LOVE This Updated Farmhouse Near TCU

Share News:

This modern farmhouse was originally a one-story home built in 1951.

So, your high school senior is headed to Texas Christian University. Or your Horned Frog needs a place to live for her senior year. Or you want to be near the campus for football, basketball, and the next filming of Taylor Sheridan’s latest “Landman” episode.

The house for sale (or maybe rent) at 2728 Livingston Ave. in Fort Worth is walkable to TCU’s campus, where the purple action is. From the street, the house looks like a modern farmhouse, but the location says TCU game day house. Then there’s also the reality that it’s close to Fort Worth’s central business district, if someone’s interested in living close to downtown for work or play.

Modern updates have opened the house to life in 2026.

Driving by the house, you’ll clean your glasses, not believing your eyes. The info about this house for sale says it was built in 1951. That’s 75 years ago. But looking at it from the street, it screams 2026. How can that be?

That’s because the house has had a major facelift since 2020, according to listing Realtor Jeremy Whiteker with Dave Perry Miller Real Estate. The former one-story house has been converted to a two-story, the walls were taken to the studs, and the house was brought into this century.

“The only original part of the house is the foundation and some of the exterior walls,” he said.

The renovations gave the house a light and airy look.

Long List

The list of updates is long. Renovations have been made to the roof, windows, two HVAC systems, electrical wiring, plumbing, fencing, flooring, landscape, and each of the three and a half bathrooms.

“It’s a really cute house,” Whiteker said, adding that the neighborhood is cute, too.

The house’s cool looks could be because the current owners are in the business of style. Sarah Mize, founder of City Love List and Love List Digital, has now launched a Fort Worth edition as well, a business known for showcasing polished style. She and her husband, business co-owner Drew Mize, bought this house when they were launching the Fort Worth Love List (@fortworthlovelist on Instagram.

Their four-bedroom, three-and-a-half bathroom house and all that style is listed at $539,000. Within its 2,396 square feet, there is a split of bedrooms and baths between the two floors. The open concept layout offers a clear view from the front door to the backyard, Whiteker said, but spaces like the designated dining room can still feel intimate.

“What’s nice is it feels open, but when you’re in the dining room, you feel tucked in,” Whiteker said. “It feels nice and airy. It feels like an easy, happy house.”

The designated dining space feels intimate even with the open floor plan.
Fresh paint, new floors, and stainless-steel appliances are just a few of the home’s renovations.
All four bathrooms in this house boast modern updates.

One More Reason

Whether your definition of a happy house is a complete renovation, a four-bedroom abode or living close to TCU, this house can make a lot of people happy for more than one reason.

“All the heavy lifting’s been done,” Whiteker said. “It’s totally renovated, and it hugs the number one rule of real estate–location, location, location.”

Sitting on this deck, hearing the crowd roar at a TCU football game could be part of the fun of living here.
