The Tipsy Elf Returns to Bishop Arts District

Bishop Arts District’s Tipsy Elf is not your typical pop-up bar — far from it — because Exxir Capital does nothing by half measures. Five years ago, the creative team put their heads together and started thinking about how their Elf on the Shelf would celebrate the holidays.
“Our CEO, Michael Nazerian, loves Christmas and doing things outside the box,” Exxir Director of Marketing Sierra Tuthill said. The team thought it would be fun to see what Larry from Elf on the Shelf fame would get up to if he could really cut loose during the holidays.

This is the fifth year for Larry the Elf to lift a libation or two and kick off the holiday season. This year’s theme is based on Larry donning his cowboy boots and heading home to Tipsy Town with his friends in tow.
As the elves ski into Tipsy Town, they will find over 10,000 square feet of fun, and they’re inviting you along. Gather in the Tipsy Town Square for the traditional photo with Santa, then snag the perfect ugly Christmas sweater from Naughty Knits and hit the disco floor at Santa’s Twerkshop. Once you’ve maxed out your dance moves, join the singalong with everyone at Off-Key Karaoke. Then head to the Tipsy Tex Saloon with crazy cactus holiday trees, disco saddles, disco nutcrackers, and an array of adult beverages you won’t soon forget.

While Tipsy Elf is primarily focused on grown-up fun, with weekly events and themed weekends, good elves never forget the little ones. For one night each season, kids can enjoy the space. This year, it’s Tuesday, Nov. 26, and the whole family can enjoy craft stations, face painting, games, cookies, and hot cocoa, ensuring a fun-filled and memorable experience for everyone.

“Tipsy Elf has become a holiday tradition for so many in our community,” Tuthill said. “We’re thrilled to welcome everyone back this year to celebrate in our most immersive and creative setting yet.”

Tipsy Elf opens on Friday, Nov. 22, and runs Wednesdays through Fridays from 5 p.m. to midnight and Saturdays and Sundays from noon to midnight until Dec. 22.
“Kid’s Night” at the Tipsy Elf takes place on Tuesday, Nov. 26, from 5 to 8 p.m.; cost is $30 per child.
