Like Corpus Christi? Beat the Heat With an Affordable Lake House

Many of us get down to Corpus Christi to be closer to the beach — as in Cinnamon Shores and Port Aransas, home to one of my favorite Italian restaurants. But there is another waterfront community nearby that is a real sleeper. Just head about 30 minutes northwest of Corpus Lake Corpus Christi, near Mathis. Head to the east side of the lake to the dream of Point Loma. You won’t even think about the beaches down south.
