Neo-Palladian Palace

Were this Neo-Palladian palace anywhere in Europe, it would be a stately home open to the public. We may not be able to let you physically tour the inside without a proof of funds letter, but we can certainly show you photos.

We are so lucky in Dallas to have incredible architects and builders and even luckier to have buyers who can afford the pinnacle of luxury living, and this is the pinnacle.

Neo-Palladian Palace

A Neo-Palladian palace is about the most uncommon residence you could imagine finding in Dallas. And, it’s most definitely of palace status. When you have 17,679 square feet on 3.3 acres with six massive bedrooms and seven-and-a-half bathrooms large enough to accommodate a cocktail party, you have a palace.

Robbie Fusch designed it, and he reached for every star, lassoed it, and brought it into this home.

There is French limestone, stunning marble, burled walnut coffered ceilings, groin vaulting everywhere, Venetian plaster, imported antique fireplaces, and 14-foot ceilings.

The movie theater was inspired by a Parisian opera house and can seat 22 people. There is also a brick-enclosed vaulted wine cellar. That’s the short list. There is so much more inside, and it’s all gorgeous.

This master suite fit for royalty includes two fireplaces, a sitting room, his-and-her baths, a sauna, and a steam shower.

Neo-Palladian Palace Gardens

Harold Leidner designed the outdoor space with more than 200 trees. It flows from formal gardens to natural spaces and a two-level pool. Of course, there are outdoor pavilions, a tennis court, a gym, a putting green, and a Koi pond.

You will never want for beauty or entertainment in this Neo-Palladian palace.

This is not our first rodeo with this palatial estate. Candy wrote about it in 2014. It was built for Charles and Jane Hanson, who dubbed it the Dallas White House, probably because they’d never seen Villa Capra, Mereworth Castle, or Palazzo Porto, all befitting of the palace moniker.

Cathy and Ralph Oats, founders of Wellness International Network, were the next owners and lived here from 2001 until 2018, when it sold to a mystery buyer who flew in, fell in love, and sealed the deal.

I know, right? The pandemic changed the real estate game. With all these folks moving here, the value of land skyrocketed!
