Friday Five Hundred: Updated by Russell Buchanan, This Mid-Mod is All Style
Share News:
This house kills me dead! I am already fond of Russell Buchanan‘s work. He’s the award-winning architect behind the Mockingbird Lane box house we reported on last week. If you weren’t bowled right on over by that amazing home, then this one will knock your stinking socks off!
Buchanan is known for his modern architecture, so when I saw that he had completely redesigned and remodeled this Lake Highlands Midcentury Modern, I had to know more. Built in 1954, 979 S. Rustic is the quintessential Mid-Mod layout featuring large windows and open rooms. With Buchanan’s help, this house is so sleek it sings like a crystal wineglass.
Not only is this house fabulous, but the whole cul-de-sac is stacked with gorgeous 50s-era modern homes. It reminds me of Eustis Avenue in Little Forest Hills. This home has a gorgeous new kitchen, a living room and dining room that is perfect for entertaining, a huge new master suite with a gigantic picture window, and the most amazing pool you have ever seen.
Of course, there are just gobs of windows throughout the main living areas, as well as in the four bedrooms. There are three total baths in this home — more than you see in most homes its age — and it’s large enough for a family at 2,126 square feet. And I am just stunned at the price, too — a recently reduced $575,000.
What an incredible home!
I'd pay cash and move in tomorrow if I could! They don't get more perfect than this one.

Love the style and spaces!

Get out of town with that price. This is listed with Susan Griffin over at Bill Griffin Real Estate. And I could just eat up that master bath!

Magnificent Home! I'm Dead, FLATLINE____________________________.
And way over pirced! I listed that house in 2004 before all the remodeling
What do you think a fair price is? I think that $575K is a little aspirational, but in this market, someone may be willing to pay that.
2004? We are in a much different market. Homes like these fly off the shelves. That said, how much do you think the owners spent? Sold for $164,500 in 2005 but it was a much different house.
quiero conocer de tu gata soy fan de ellos
