Urban Living at 2011 Cedar Springs Road is the Ultimate in Cool

With a delicious blend of textures and finishes, today’s Saturday Seven Hundred is the epitome of cool. And at a bit over $300 per square foot, it’s luxury cool. Situated within walking distance of the Arts District and Klyde Warren Park, the location of this amazing urban loft can’t be beat. Seriously, cool. But don’t take my word for it. The 22-foot, floor-to-ceiling windows speak for themselves. This two bedroom, two bathroom condo at 2011 Cedar Springs Road Apartment 102 is listed by Tod G. Franklin with Dfwcityhomes at $725,000.

See what I mean about those windows? They’re stunning! But not to worry, they’re not too stunning. Those babies come equipped with electronic blinds. With all that light, the open-concept living area seems endless. Through those glass doors is a sweet little balcony with ample space for lounging and cooking out.

What I’m really crazy about in this space, though, are all the textures. From the warmth of the exposed brick, to the rough concrete and exposed ductwork, up the floating metal staircase and on down to the gorgeous hardwood floors, it’s a feast for the eyes. I might have removed all the baby paraphernalia before doing photography, but that is neither here nor there. It does, however, offer an explanation as to why the current occupants are selling. A toddler and that staircase – you’d be preferred customers at the local urgent care.

For a condo, the kitchen seems really decently sized. In this space, you get a better appreciation of the exposed ductwork and plumbing, too. With stainless steel appliances, it’s outfitted with everything an urban foodie could need. The sleek kitchen island serves as additional prep space and a breakfast bar. Or bar bar. It’s 5 o’clock somewhere.

The second floor landing is surprisingly spacious and could do double duty as a small home office and second lounge area. The condo is 2,398 square feet, so it’s not exactly small, but a bonus space never hurts.

I am in love with the stained concrete flooring in the master bedroom. Actually, I love everything about this room. I suspect, though, that if you’re on the taller side, you might have to watch those ceilings toward the perimeter. Curiously, that concrete flooring doesn’t seem to have made its way into the master bathroom, which is a shame. The master bath is huge, though, with double vanities, separate soaking tub and walk-in shower.  I think I could get over feeling meh about the tile.

The secondary bedroom is nice (I love the privacy glass wall for bringing light in to an windowless room), as is the hall bath. Though, again, a bit more pre-photography attention could have been paid to keep it from looking cluttered.

Benefits to condo living don’t stop with the ultra cool loft. Owners have access to a luxury, resort-style pool and grill area. Covered parking is also included. Are you feeling the call of urban living? It’s certainly tempting with a space this extraordinary.
