If you’ve been glued to the Masters all week, now is the perfect time to take your love of golf to the next level. Whether you’re a daily golfer or simply an avid fan, you’ll want this stunning contemporary home, which sits on the 15th fairway of the Bent Tree Country Club Golf Course, overlooking White Rock Creek and the Preston Trail fairway beyond.
Located at the end of Club Hill Drive, it offers incredible vantage points from an impressive elevation. The main floor is at street level, so when you walk inside, the tree-top views are a jaw-dropper. But it gets better. Descend the floating staircase, and the view is straight out to the course.

Chris and Karen Orendain became interested in the Bent Tree neighborhood after visiting Chris’ parents, who were living there. They found a house to remodel and loved the entire process, largely due to working with a great contractor, Mark Sharp. After a few years, a Realtor they had worked with told them about a home on the golf course that had just hit the market.
“It was a Spanish Mediterranean with a courtyard in the middle of the house,” Chris said. Karen loved it, but it was not at all to Chris’ taste. However, they wanted to be on the golf course.

Chris grew up with an architect father, understood construction, and had definitely caught the remodeling bug. In addition to their existing home, they’d invested in multiple single-family rental properties and redone all of those. This Bent Tree house actually turned into a fun family project.
“What made it great was working with Sharp Construction because we have so much experience with them,” Chris said. “We all got together and knocked it out of the park.”

The team took the house down to the studs, rebuilding it with new electrical, plumbing, HVAC, insulation, windows, and a new roof. They kept the 12-inch-thick concrete walls in place, as well as anything that was brick. The result is an 8,964-square-foot showplace of open room environments with floor-to-ceiling Pella architectural windows and multi-slide doors framing the views.

“The lower level was a garage area when we bought the house,” Chris said. “Now it’s a man cave with a pool table, a whisky room, a media room with a 120-inch screen, a private office, and a guest suite.”

Although the house was planned as a flip, the Orendains fell in love with it and could not bear to sell.
“It’s a great community,” Chris said. “There are only 50 homes here, and once we started making friends, we did not want to leave. This neighborhood is a hidden gem, and you don’t understand until you come out here.”

“Most people sit out on their front porch to meet the neighbors, but here you just sit out on the back patio, and you can socialize with them,” Chris said. “We have had golfers run up to the house for a cocktail, and we accommodate them. We grill a lot, and they come by and ask what time dinner is. It’s a great way to meet people!”

Cool house!
By the way, it’s “Preston Trail”, not “Preston Trails”.
Thanks Brad, typos do get by us at times : )
