Z Gallerie is back in Dallas, with its signature mix of polish and personality front and center at a grand opening this past Friday.

Known for its distinctive furniture, statement artwork, and high-impact aesthetic, the home décor retailer has reopened on Henderson Avenue, marking the latest step in the brand’s relaunch under new ownership. It’s the second location to reflect that evolution, following the debut of a Los Angeles flagship last year.

Leading the revival is Scarlett Fan, founder and CEO of Karat Home, the Fort Worth–based furniture e-commerce company that acquired the brand in early 2024.

‘Purchasing Z Gallerie has been a passion project,’ said Fan

Founded in California in 1979 as a poster and art shop, Z Gallerie grew into a nationwide retailer known for its bold, design-forward approach to home décor.

“We’re modernizing the business while staying true to the vision of making every day glamorous, one room at a time,” Fan said.

While keeping its heritage intact through the creation of spaces that feel personal and expressive, the brand’s updated merchandise mix feels more intentional and considered.

The showroom reads as a series of curated interiors rather than a traditional retail floor

Each Mactan stone base is hand-carved into geometric blocks, highlighting the organic pores and subtle shifts in color.
From the beginning, art has been a Z Gallerie staple.

A sculptural sofa anchors one living space, while a stone and metallic dining table defines another. And gallery-style art installations nod to the brand’s roots.

Familiar elements remain: plush pillows, opulent accessories, luxe fabrics, and timeless animal prints. Upholstery collections strike exactly the right balance of fashion and function.

“Furniture has to be comfortable — not just look good,” said Fan.

The new store features the brand’s signature pillows, accessories, and animal prints.

‘Our goal is to design pieces people actually want to sit in,’ said Fan

Two distinct stories define the Spring/Summer 2026 collection. Mod Naturalist leans organic, with sculptural curves, tactile finishes, and a softened palette. Deco Pop is more graphic and cinematic, defined by polished lacquers, bold shapes, and reflective surfaces. Materials and details — velvet, stone, wavy glass, mirrored accents, and luminous lighting — carry the story throughout.

Mirrored furniture, velvet, stone, and statement lighting highlight the new collection.

Fan’s acquisition of Z Gallerie followed a brief hiatus for the brand. Amid shifting shopping habits and mounting pressure on brick-and-mortar retailers, the company filed for bankruptcy in late 2023. Karat Home acquired it in early 2024 for $7.2 million, relaunching it with a stronger e-commerce platform and a plan to reintroduce physical stores in select locations, including the Knox-Henderson address.

Dallas was a natural stage for the relaunch.

“It’s always been a great market for us,” said Fan. “There’s a vibrant design culture that values individuality.”

And it’s that kind of thinking that is going to shape the brand’s next chapter.

“Z Gallerie has always stood for accessible luxury and bold self-expression,” Fan said. “We want to celebrate that iconic aesthetic while reimagining it for a new generation of stylish homes.”

Z Gallerie is located at 2923 N Henderson Ave. Store hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
