A Cowboy Pool and Sauna? This Reimagined Merriman Park Ranch Has It All

You know you need a sauna and a cowboy pool, don’t you? That’s certainly what I thought when this reimagined Merriman Park Estates ranch-style home popped up. I was charmed, and you will be too.
The Merriman Park Estates neighborhood is part of Lake Highlands in Northeast Dallas. Although it is within Dallas city limits, it’s zoned to the coveted Richardson school district. Located on the edge of a green belt, close to White Rock Lake, it offers just about every amenity you could ever want. It’s a very social community with plenty of events, a garden club, a women’s social club, and a terrific neighborhood association.

There is a mix of ranch, mid-century modern, and bungalow homes here, surrounded by mature trees. It’s one of those neighborhoods you wish you grew up in because it’s so friendly and safe. It may be the safest neighborhood in Dallas with a neighborhood crime watch, an expanded neighborhood patrol, and a private Volunteers in Patrol program.
If you are as impressed with this Merriman Park Estates ranch-style house as I am, you’d better put in your best offer fast!

The home was beautifully remodeled and updated by Together Design & Build. The company launched in Austin six years ago, branched into Dallas two years ago, and is turning remodeling on its head. Not only are they doing some innovative things with backyards (hence the sauna and cowboy pool), but they are also lifting the good old ranch-style into a new era.
What struck me the most about this remodel is the extensive use of warm wood on the walls and ceilings of the main living areas, which is offset by dramatically painted beams in a bold black. We’ve seen a lot of remodeled ranch homes in Dallas, but this one has that extra layer of style we all want.

This is certainly the way to open up a kitchen for modern living while retaining some of the home’s classic elements, like the coved breakfast room ceiling. White oak cabinetry, Taj Mahal quartz countertops, and a waterfall island create a kitchen that is not only stylish but also practical.

I’m particularly happy to see more attention being paid to laundry rooms these days, and this one is a treat. It has custom green cabinetry and just the right dash of lemony wallpaper. With a dry bar and wine cooler just outside the door, laundry day never looked like so much fun!

It’s a fabulous family home with 2,701 square feet, four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a home office, but the deal-sealer is the backyard. Bifold patio doors lead to a custom-built deck with a cowboy pool and a four-person sauna. Don’t worry, there’s an 8-foot privacy fence, so you don’t have to worry about neighbors spotting you in your bikini!
If you miss out on this one, no worries. Together Design & Build has five more in the works!
