North Texas is quickly gaining notice as one of the best golf cities in the country. Sure, areas like Scottsdale, Palm Springs, and Las Vegas offer some of the country’s most iconic courses. However, when you factor in the concentration of courses, pro talent, and practice facilities, you can make a solid case for our area.

Case in point: Dallas Athletic Club. Designed by Jack Nicklaus and frequented by the likes of Lee Trevino and Bryson DeChambeau, this course is a national icon.

For this week’s Inwood Home of the Week sponsored by Inwood National Bank, we’re excited to show off an incredible opportunity just off the fifth tee box.

This classic three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom, 3,082-square-foot gem brings you within a pitching wedge of one of our area’s best courses. Of course, the home itself is an icon in its own right.

Built in 1981, the beautiful brick exterior is complemented by leaded glass windows and a mature setting. Its curb appeal is picture perfect.

However, it’s the updated interior that really sets this property apart. With an open concept and quality design, this home offers effortless flow for both everyday living and entertaining. Warm hardwoods, rich finishes, and high-end fixtures define its first impression.

The expansive living area is anchored by a wall of windows that frame breathtaking views of the rolling fairways, flooding the home with natural light. With built-in bookshelves, soaring ceilings, and a sleek limestone fireplace, this area exudes sophistication.
“What really sets this home apart is the golf course views,” said listing agent George Lanier with Ebby Halliday. “The wall of windows in the living room not only fills this home with natural light, but it also gives residents a priceless panorama of this pristine golf course.”

Then, just over a formal dining area, the kitchen creates a classy culinary statement. Here, a massive eat-in island sets the stage for elevated cooking experiences. Then, premium appliances, custom cabinetry, and accent lighting coalesce to create a gourmet kitchen.

The private primary suite serves as a true escape, featuring custom built-ins and dual walk-in closets. The views from this bedroom give this retreat a resort feel and organic aesthetic.

Then, the ensuite bathroom boasts elegant updates with a seamless shower, stand-alone soaking tub, and dual vanities. The tilework and design give this space a sleek look and a serene vibe.

This home unfolds to offer office space, bedrooms, and other communal environments. Therefore, it easily accommodates just about any type of resident.

Finally, an impressive, oversized wood deck spans the entire back of the home, offering an ideal setting for hosting, outdoor dining, or unwinding under serene sunsets. As an added bonus, enjoy front row views of the Dallas Athletic Club spectacular Fourth of July fireworks show right from your own backyard.

George Lanier with Ebby Halliday lists 4027 Fairlakes Drive for $585,000.

I agree with the listing agent that what sets the home apart is the golf course views. Some of the 41 photos in the listing give a subtle, tantalizing glimpse of those views.
There’s also a few drone shots from the front and back that enable you to piece together what the view might look like, depending on how good your spatial judgement is.
