Too Much of a Good Thing Is Not A Concern Owners Had When Picking the Wallpaper

My dear ‘ol Granny used to say there can be too much of a good thing. It was usually while I was enjoying a cookie or a piece of cake. Even as a child, Mimi loved her baked goods.

That gif is so on point I can’t even begin to tell you. I’m laughing to myself right now because if we’re friends you’ve gotten a raspberry from me. If we’re really good friends you’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve blown raspberries at you. I digress.

Where was I? Ah yes, too much of a good thing.

The house featured in this week’s column is a perfect example of “too much of a good thing.” Leave Mimi’s cookies and cake alone, thank you very much.

This lovely home is located in Cobbleskill’s historic district located in New York. Props to the owners who have a decent job keeping the house looking nice. Let’s move on to the inside.

The wallpaper is quite something but it’s tempered with the beigey, minty color. Okay, now that we’ve taken a minute to adjust, let’s continue.

When you have the glow from the other room which has its own patterned wallpaper coming through what is decidedly a solid wallpaper pattern of a completely different color then it may all be too much. Just sayin’.

I take it back. That’s not too much.

The projector in the first picture is shown on the screen located above the front door. Soooo, when watching your stories, you cannot open the front door. This entire house is what happens when “too much of a good thing” meets “hold my beer.”

Wowsers, even the ceiling has the same wallpaper. If you can pull your eyes downward, you will be blown away by the hardwoods. The design in the flooring is just fantastic.

For the teeny tiny people in your family, I give you the incredible shrinking bathroom.

When it comes to the kitchen, choices were made.

I love the fridge but the counter doesn’t really go with the style of the house. But that’s nothing compared to the stairwell. Brace.

Too much of a good thing? Why yes, yes indeed. It makes me want to fling myself down those stairs.

Located in Cobleskill, New York, this home is listed for $239,900.
