Turkey Day is quickly approaching like a pack of crazed Turkey Trot runners. You can feel the impending frenzy when you go out.

For those who are looking to take a time-out from the insanity, then the place to go is San Antonio. That’s not what you were expecting was it? Typically when I need to flee the hustle and bustle of an impending holiday, I write about a lovely home on the beach.

Based on 18 different metrics, the kind folks WalletHub.com compared the 100 largest U.S. cities. The data they collected ranges from the cost of the Turkey Day dinner, flight delays, the weather, and so on.

“San Antonio is the best place to go for Thanksgiving this year, and it’s an especially good place for people who want to dine out, with an extremely high number of restaurants rated at least 4.5 stars,” according to WalletHub.

I don’t know about you but they had me at “dine out.” Why wrestle with a turkey and its giblets when delicious, authentic Mexican food awaits just a mere five hours away? I have found the San Antonio home where you can enjoy not only your meal but your family.
