Driving around one day, I stumbled upon Kessler Plaza, one of the cutest neighborhoods in Oak Cliff. It’s located right next to Ravinia Heights and features adorable Austin stone cottages like this one. It’s also one of the few neighborhoods in Dallas that is still affordable.

I was thrilled when I came across this 1940 Kessler Plaza cottage because, although it appears small, behind its sweet facade lies 2,593 square feet with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. That’s almost twice the size of my little Hollywood Heights bungalow! But what really caught my attention were the rental possibilities here.

I have always believed that owning a property with rental potential is the most effective way for people to enter homeownership today.  Whether it’s a duplex, a backhouse, or leasing out a bedroom in your home, it can really make financial sense.
