Huffines’ Solterra Texas Takes Top Community Honors at 2025 McSAM Awards

Huffines Communities walked away with five wins at the Dallas Builders Association’s 2025 McSAM Awards, including the coveted title of Master-Planned Community of the Year for its Mesquite-based community, Solterra Texas.
The annual awards, held April 26 at The Statler Hotel in Downtown Dallas, recognize excellence in residential real estate development, marketing, and sales. Created in 1979, the McSAM Awards highlight standout builders, developers, and associates across North Texas.
Solterra Texas earned four awards, and Huffines Communities picked up a fifth for its agent-focused appreciation party.
“Winning five McSAM Awards, including Master-Planned Community of the Year for Solterra Texas and one for our Huffines Appreciation Party, is an incredible honor,” said Kellie Outland with Huffines Communities. “It reflects the hard work, innovation, and passion our team puts into building communities across North Texas. We are grateful to the Dallas Builders Association for this recognition and look forward to continuing to set new standards in residential living.”
The awards earned by Huffines Communities and Solterra Texas include:
- Master-Planned Community of the Year – Solterra Texas
Solterra features more than 15 miles of trails, resort-style pools, a 25-acre lake, and a slate of family-focused amenities. Its $25 million amenity complex, The Headquarters, is set to open in late summer 2025. - Best New Amenity – Opened in 2024 – The Lookout Treehouse
Built in partnership with Pete Nelson and the Treehouse Masters team, this amenity centers around a 150-year-old oak and includes a party pavilion 20 feet in the air. Playground areas and lake views complete the experience. - Best Special Event for the Public/Consumer – Solfest
The community’s two-day Solfest drew more than 3,000 ticketed guests and featured live music, food trucks, and 555 model home tours. A VIP ribbon-cutting welcomed 344 industry professionals. - Best Video – Short Format – Solterra Highlight Video
A branded video captured the lifestyle and amenities of Solterra, helping boost awareness across social and digital media. - Best Special Event/Promotion for Agents – Huffines Appreciation Party
Held at The Rustic in Dallas, this event hosted more than 500 real estate professionals and featured live performances by Cory Morrow and Silverada, along with giveaways like a 2024 Jeep Wrangler. Realtor Awards were also presented.
Other top McSAM winners included David Weekley Homes (Builder of the Year), Hillwood Communities (Developer of the Year), and Homes by J. Anthony (Custom Builder of the Year).
