This Bravura Modern Showpiece in Fort Worth’s Westover Hills Continues to Thrill

I wanted my return from my hiatus to bring readers something really special and was fortunate to find this spectacular modern offering in Westover Hills at 2103 Indian Creek Dr. Modern? Westover? Westover may connote for some, traditional, even stuffy but the well-heeled enclave does contain several of Fort Worth’s premiere modern gems. The A. Quincy Jones former home of Fran and Eddie Chiles springs to mind.

The retiring and discreet, crouching below-grade street elevation, belies my use of “spectacular” property but the unassuming façade camouflages nearly 6,300 square feet of beautifully realized contemporary space.
The architect of this 1977 residence is the celebrated firm of Ibañez Shaw, interior architects of one of DFW’s most glam-gorgeous new restaurants, 61 Osteria — a star among many of their outstanding commercial and residential projects.

The current owners are the second adoptees of 2103 Indian Creek Dr. When they bought the property it had become, after 37 years, a bit rough around the edges and in need of some TLC. An 18-month reno respected the original design and brought the property back to its former luster.
Listing agent Amy Trott of Williams Trew graciously sent me the owners’ spreadsheet of all of their endeavors which, among many, include three new HVAC systems, electric wiring and plumbing upgrades, Lutron lighting systems, window replacements and exterior landscaping, foundation and drain work upgrades.

Inside one immediately grasps the sweeping ambit of the design of this three-bedroom, three-bath, plus three-half-bath abode. The site atop one of Westover’s lovely hills is deftly managed to create gorgeous interiors that draw the verdant exteriors indoors. Courtyards, balconies, and floor-to-ceiling windows forge a delicious blur between indoors and outdoors.
The principal living room/dining room clocks in at over 700 square feet. The living room centers on one of the two house’s fireplaces. BTW, is there anything more inviting than a clutch of four Mies Van Der Rohe Barcelona chairs around a fireplace?
P.S., if you are fortunate to possess a 1929 original, it will officially become an antique in four years.

The most glorious galley kitchen I’ve seen in memory with a profligate use of marble slab and a central prep island of over 20 feet in length capped and illuminated by a recessed skylight. At left is a secondary living room embraced on three sides by floor-to-ceiling windows where the owners spend most of their time.

The primary suite is on the first level with a luxurious spa bathroom featuring dual vanities, a soaking tub, a walk-in shower, and two generous walk-in closets.

The remaining two bedrooms are on the second level along with a media room, home gym, and game room.

The most impressive elevation is at back. Private. Saved for the Sylvan sanctuary garden. Stairs from the terrace lead to a bridge which crosses Indian Creek and on to the pool area with a new spa, heater and repointed masonry.

Amy Trott of William’s Trew Real Estate is listing 2103 Indian Creek for $4.95 million.
I could live here
You’re not saying this Indian Creek home seen here is the old Eddie & Fran Chiles place, correct? You mentioned their house to reference the general location/area?
