Open House Today: A Northern Heights Urban Townhome Designed by FAR + DANG

Northern Heights is a captivating neighborhood of complete opposites. A conservation district covers one section while the other is filled with cutting-edge urban townhomes by some of our most talented architects including Frank Welch, Lionel Morrison, and FAR + DANG.

Northern Heights Urban Townhome

The story of this striking Northern Heights townhome begins almost three years ago. Realtor David Griffin had a client from the East Coast that wanted a modern urban lock-and-leave residence in a walkable area. There was little available but when you are as connected as Griffin you know how to get things done. A lot was secured, and architecture firm FAR + DANG and Knox Build were engaged to create this urban townhome. You could not ask for a better team.

Griffin’s client wanted to design a duplex with one unit for his use and one for sale. That recently completed corner townhome is now on the market and it’s extraordinary. FAR + DANG selected Bazilian, Cumaru hardwood siding and flat panels of matte black metal siding for a dramatic exterior.

The corner position afforded FAR + DANG the ability to design the home with a 20-foot front yard and a 25-foot side yard. This allows all of the main rooms to take advantage of northern light.

The 3,243-square-foot, three-bedroom, three-and-a-half bathroom home’s first level features a paneled gallery entrance, cleverly concealing the elevator and a private guest suite. Level two houses the main living area, anchored by a fireplace. With 11-foot ceilings and floor-to-ceiling glass doors leading to a balcony, the living space is bathed in light.

Staging by East Dallas Modern.

The kitchen features stainless steel Bosch appliances. A large island provides space for casual dining and food prep.

The third level features the primary suite as well as the home’s third ensuite bedroom, now being shown as an office space.

A spa bath with stone finishes, dual vanities, a soaking tub, and a separate shower.

“It’s a perfect lot and an easy-to-maintain home with proximity to everything,” Griffin said. “You could not have a better lock and leave, walkable neighborhood.”

Griffin has this Northern Hills urban townhome at 3516 Overbrook Drive available for $2.95 million.
