Who could forget this stunning Frank Welch at  3509 Cragmont Avenue listed by Faisal Halum?

When you get to write a column as chock full of CandysDirt.com’s signature content — house porn — as our Highlight Home of the Week, sponsored by the inimitable  Lisa Peters, Senior Loan Officer at First Horizon, you get the enviable task of writing about some of the most interesting homes on the North Texas market. At the end of the year, we like to look back at some of our favorite and best homes of the year.

3509 Cragmont Ave. in Northern Heights

This stunning architecturally significant home was a privilege to feature and gush over, as we always love to admire an architect’s personal home, especially one of the caliber of Frank Welch. This beauty was off the market almost as quickly as it was on, unsurprisingly, and we will be excited to see what the new owners do with it.

11535 Saint Michaels Drive in JanMar

A JanMar listing is almost always going to be special, as the neighborhood itself is a rare enclave of rolling hills, winding streets, and some of the city’s largest collection of Midcentury Modern homes. But this one was a particularly unique gem, listed by Micky Carr, with updates in keeping with the 1960s style of the home, and an incredible creekside lot.

6605 Del Norte Lane in Preston Hollow

Phillip Murrell’s listing on Del Norte had style to spare, and we couldn’t get enough of this luxe home with its custom detail. Though it was snapped up quickly, it deserves another look for #designinspo and #houseporn aficionados.

1211 N. Winnetka Ave. in Kessler Park

Robert Kucharski’s listing in Kessler Park went a little viral for its unique 2,000-bottle wine room, but the historic Tudor had so much more to offer. From its stunning design to its outdoor oasis graced by native plantings landscaped by the master gardener owner, this home was a real find.

9418 Hilldale in Lake Highlands

A super cool neighborhood and an even cooler house designed by Mark Shekter, this home was a designer’s dream. Indoors and out, this Lake Highlands masterpiece is a feast for the eyes.
