You Can Move Into the White House Without a Single Electoral Vote

For those keeping track, it’s been one of the most contentious presidential election seasons in recent history. With just days left until the election, our dual political parties are duking it out for ownership of the White House. Some estimate this will be the costliest presidential battle of all time — approximately $16 billion by the time Election Day Nov. 5 rolls around.

However, what if we told you the White House could be yours for just a fraction of that? Well, a white house anyway…

If you’re a fan of upscale Dallas real estate, you may have seen the white house of Preston Hollow, located next to Ursuline at Walnut Hill and Midway. This exquisite four-bedroom, eight-bathroom, 9,200-square-foot entertainers’ paradise could give the OG in Washington a run for its money. And while it won’t give you presidential powers, it’ll certainly make you feel like the king or queen of Preston Hollow.

“This home is one of a kind,” said listing agent Amy Detwiler with Compass RE Texas. “The layout design really emphasizes elegance and grandeur. Balancing both livability with sophisticated entertaining spaces, it’s everything you want in an estate of this stature.”

The gorgeous home belonged to prominent Dallas business magnate Randall Goss. Goss retired as chairman and CEO of U.S. Risk Insurance Group at the end of 2023, having led the company since its founding in 1986.

Of course, the estate is fit for a high-powered CEO if not a sitting president. From the outside, it features exquisite American Colonial architecture set against a meticulously maintained 0.87-acre lot.

Then, entering the home instantly transports you to the apex of luxury.

“The bottom floor houses most of the square footage,” said Detwiler. “The scale of the rooms is really impressive. The ceilings are sky-high and pull in tons of natural light. Also, the flow of each living area is seamless. The layout is incredibly compelling.”

From antique fixtures to ornate millwork, this home has all the hallmarks of a carefully curated classic. Grand chandeliers, rococo embellishments, and square footage on square footage define its grand appeal.

While it may not exactly feature an oval office, this home includes a handsome library with rich woods, a stone hearth, and incredible character.

The kitchen is appointed to accommodate an entire cooking staff. With dual islands, multiple prep areas, and two ranges, entertaining large groups is easy and efficient.

Then, the primary suite is absolutely enormous.

“They actually took in another bedroom to expand the primary suite,” said Detwiler. “It’s super private and secluded from the rest of the house, featuring two full bathrooms connected by a fireplace and shower.”

What are white houses for if not entertaining? The builders here obviously had this in mind. With features like a full-on movie theatre, multiple bars, a wine room, and guest quarters, it’s imagined for any event type.

“The cabana is one of the home’s great wow factors,” said Detwiler. “It includes a full bathroom, full bar, and caterer’s kitchen. Also, it opens to the pool.”

Of course, we can’t cover this palatial estate without talking about the backyard. With a sparkling swimming pool, marble terrace, chess lawn, and garden pavilion, this oasis provides boundless luxury.

If you’re looking for a presidential palace and don’t quite have the electoral votes to get you to Washington, this white house should do just fine.

Amy Detwiler with Compass RE Texas lists 9863 Rockbrook Drive for $5.9 million.
