North Dallas’ Galleria/Midtown/Valley View/International District is making big moves, and those who have invested in the area are betting on a box-office hit.
Netflix House is scheduled to open at Galleria Dallas next fall. The entertainment venue will be in a prominent space on the northwest side of the shopping center, city officials said in a press release.
District 11 Dallas Councilwoman Jaynie Schultz, who represents the area, said she and the Dallas Economic Development team actively supported the project to continue efforts toward their international affairs strategy.
“Netflix House and the overall international marketing efforts of the Galleria are completely aligned with the plan to build out the Dallas International District,” she said. “As more tourists come to shop at the Galleria, we hope they will explore the regional corner of ‘Main & Main’ and join the multitude of countries who are opening trade offices and settling in this area.”
What is Netflix House?
So is it a movie theater or what?
Not exactly.
The streaming giant noted that initial year-round Netflix House sites in Pennsylvania and Dallas will build on earlier live experiences for “Bridgerton,” “Money Heist”, “Stranger Things,” and “Squid Game,” and promises an experiential entertainment venue to immerse fans in popular Netflix titles, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“At Netflix House, you can enjoy regularly updated immersive experiences, indulge in retail therapy, and get a taste — literally — of your favorite Netflix series and films through unique food and drink offerings,” Marian Lee, Netflix’s chief marketing officer, said in a statement reprinted by THR.
The Netflix House is one of two recent Hollywood investments in Dallas. In early June, Sony Pictures Experiences announced it will purchase all five Dallas locations of the Alamo Drafthouse, days after the Austin-based dine-in theater chain shut its doors after filing for bankruptcy.
“The Galleria Dallas is a fixture in Dallas and now with Netflix House it will be even more of a tourist destination,” Visit Dallas president and CEO Craig Davis said in a press release. We are excited about all the developments in the Dallas International District to showcase the best of Dallas to visitors coming from near and wide.”
More Big Things Coming to Galleria/International District
In addition to Netflix House, other exciting projects are coming soon to the Dallas International District, city officials announced. Upcoming events include:
- A series of International Night Markets that celebrate the diversity of Dallas’ food, culture, and art, kicking off again in September.
- A Complete Street project for Montfort Drive, just minutes away from Netflix House, is near completion, with $5.4 million allocated for public streetscape improvements including hardscape and landscape enhancements. The project is expected to be completed in late fall 2024.
- The Dallas Independent School District will inaugurate a new PreK-12 STEAM school in the area in 2026 — with a joint DISD/City International Library.
