Whimsy, Wonder, And Elvis Help Sell This Washington State Home

Elvis, Washington State, Las Vegas

It has been 29 years since my husband, Gus, and I renewed our wedding vows in Las Vegas with an Elvis impersonator. It was held at the Graceland Wedding Chapel.

We had our pick of Elvis impersonators. We went with the young, skinny Elvis wearing a white jumpsuit covered in rhinestones with a cape and scarf. He was fabulous.

Our Elvis could do this exact move. I still remember his real name. It was Reno. Reno the Elvis impersonator who works in Vegas.

I digress.

The vows were interwoven with Elvis songs. At the end, all three of us sang a raucous rendition of “Viva Las Vegas.” It was the best $300 we have ever spent.

In the spirit of “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas,” we did not come home and remodel our house to look like the Graceland Wedding Chapel. The same cannot be said for the owners of the home featured in this week’s column.

Sitting on 14 acres with absolutely incredible views, the home has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and is 3,565 square feet. It’s located at 2581 S Stateline Road, Liberty Lake, Washington and the owners are asking $1.275 million.

In case you have not been to the Paris Las Vegas hotel this is a photo of the interior.

They must have really, really liked this hotel because that is pretty darn close to the picture above. But wait, it gets better.

Setting up a table with an umbrella in your home is a choice.

You know what else is a choice? The green hanging vines and indoor street lamps.

The description puts it like this: “As you step through the door, you’re greeted by the captivating allure of a Parisian cafe’, transporting you to the romantic streets of Paris. The ambiance is further enhanced by the flow of vintage-style lamp posts and a majestic faux tree that reaches towards the ceiling, creating a sense of whimsy and wonder. “

It seems like a smidge more whimsy was needed so they put a rock and plastic plant at the base of the street light.

Then there is the kitchen.

“The heart of this home lies in its unique gazebo kitchen, where culinary adventures come to life under the open sky.”

I can think of no culinary adventures where I would want something to come to life. That sounds like a recipe for a horror movie.

It only seems appropriate that I would come across a house that makes me think of our wedding vow renewal with Elvis. Today the Gusman and I celebrate our 31st wedding anniversary. I can honestly say that after all these years he is still my hunka, hunka burnin’ love. Trust me, Reno from Vegas would appreciate that line.

Thank ya, thank ya very much
