The City of Dallas issued a press release Friday afternoon announcing the release of a much-anticipated project list for the $1.25 billion bond election scheduled for May 4.

The following allocations were approved by the City Council. Dallas staff released Friday an itemized list of projects that will appear on the ballot.

One eagle-eyed resident has already reported an error. The list allocates $500,000 for the Glencoe Skate Park, which was removed from consideration in January. Officials said at the time those funds would go toward a skate park in another district.

On this week’s episode of Dallas Dirt, Dallas Parks and Recreation Board Member Rudy Karimi sat down with April Towery to discuss what park projects made the cut.

Below is the City of Dallas press release, in its entirety:

The City of Dallas Bond and Construction Management Department is pleased to announce the release of the proposed 2024 Bond Program project listing, map and updated FAQ now available for public viewing on the department’s official website.

The City of Dallas has called for a bond election on May 4, 2024, to ask Dallas voters to consider ten bond propositions, which make up the $1.25 billion 2024 bond program. In-person early voting takes place from April 22-30, including weekend hours. Election Day voting will be held on Saturday, May 4. The City’s Office of Bond and Construction Management is providing information on their website, including a project listing, map and a FAQ document on the 2024 bond program, which will be made available to City voters on March 22, 2024.

The City Council has the authority to add or delete specific projects, modify project scope, add new projects, or adjust the amounts needed for specific projects, within the same proposition. Passage of a proposition does not guarantee that the City of Dallas will complete a specific project.

The comprehensive map and list outline the various bond projects planned for the city, providing information on upcoming developments, renovations, and infrastructure improvements as currently planned. Residents, stakeholders, and interested parties may explore the map and list to review the City’s future projects, as they are currently planned.

This release marks an important milestone in the city’s commitment to transparency and community engagement. By making this factual information readily accessible, the City of Dallas aims to foster informed participation and collaboration among its constituents.
