A Mansfield Traditional With a Woodland Wonderland Out Your Backdoor

If you’re looking for wide open spaces, land, and privacy but with excellent proximity to city life, Mansfield is the answer.

Without traffic, Mansfield is 25 minutes southeast of Fort Worth. You can be at Six Flags in about 20 minutes, the Dallas Arts District in 40 minutes, and Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport in half an hour.

Mansfield

Mansfield was named for two gentlemen, Ralph Sandiford Man and Julian Feild, who became friends in the 1850s and decided to check out rumors of a settlement southwest of Fort Worth known as Cross Timbers and Walnut Creek. They built the first brick steam-powered mill in Texas in 1860. The town that grew up around it was named Mansfield after these two entrepreneurs. (The English spelling of Feild was changed to Field in later years.)

That same small-town feel exists today, and it’s a major attraction.

“People move here for the rural community feeling, but they are still close to amenities,” RE/MAX DFW Associates listing agent Scott Baylis with The Villa Group said. “It’s a great area. You can still buy land at a relatively affordable price, and everyone loves the school district.”

And Baylis just happens to have the perfect listing in Mansfield!

A Mansfield Traditional on 2.5 Acres

This lovely traditional home sits on 2.5 acres of heavily wooded land. It’s located in a cul-de-sac with only 10 homes. It was a custom build so you will find quality craftsmanship, extensive wood molding, built-ins, and nail-down hardwood flooring.

Walls of windows allow for scenic views from every angle and for natural light to flow through the family area.

“So many homes today are a modern, white, blank canvas, and a lot of buyers are looking for more traditional homes,” Baylis said.

With 4,873 square feet, four bedrooms, and five bathrooms, it’s truly a family home, and you know that for a fact when you reach the game room.

“The seller is ingenious,” Baylis said. “He built a suspension train in the game room that goes around the room. At Christmas, it would be magical.”

A Great Town For Kids

Mansfield is a great place for kids in general.

There is a Hawaiian Falls water park and Mansfield Sports Park, formerly known as Big League Dreams Sports Park. If you are not familiar with the concept, it’s a large-scale sports facility that replicates famous major league fields. Fieldhouse USA Mansfield and Mansfield National Golf Club are great for the entire family.

But let’s face it, leaving home will be a challenge when you have a tranquil backyard, a fire pit, and a woodland wonderland out your back door.

Baylis and The Villa Group have 5601 Joshua Ct. in Mansfield listed for $849,900.

If you want to know a little bit more about Mansfield. Come talk to me I’ve lived in the Mansfield community since 1969. The old building that is right by the new Erma Nash I was the last graduating class out of that school in 1973. Regraduated on the football field of RL Anderson’s stadium which is right next door to Erma Nash. I’ve lived in the Mansfield community since 1969
