Super Bowl Dreams Factor into Open House Choices

Share News:

These homes are not just ready for the Super Bowl, but they have great places for your family’s sports stars to display their hardware!

So now we’re down to the big two. The Kansas City Chiefs and The San Francisco 49ers will face each other in the Super Bowl LVIII at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 11 in Las Vegas.

One red team versus another red team. This will be the big game splashed on TV across the universe. Time to get your pizza, wings, dips, and chips for all this hoopla. Who will be more excited when the AFC champs meet the NFC champs? The brawny players, the big-time fans, Travis Kelce’s girlfriend Taylor Swift, or the high-rolling advertisers who spent the big bucks on Super Bowl airtime?

My money’s on the players’ parents. Think of how many of them have sat in the heat, rain, snow, and ice to watch their little darlings through middle school, high school, college, and on to the big time of the NFL.

Along the way, surely Mom and Dad picked up a lot of hardware. All those plaques and trophies have to be on display so the proud parents can casually and sincerely humblebrag to friends and neighbors who happen by.

So, for those Texas football parents who have a game plan for their sons’ (and daughters’) sports careers, we present some stellar open houses this week. These three homes aren’t just great places to watch the Super Bowl, but they also come with wonderful places to display the trophies of your future Super Bowl heroes. The same concept works for football fans or maybe team owners who also might need a spot to display their favorite things.

1055 Tobey Court, Aledo

In this 4,094-square-foot Aledo home, the builder had the foresight to flank the living room fireplace with two trophy cases. Sure, some might call them built-in bookshelves, but to the sports-obsessed parents, they look like the ideal spot to display Junior’s championship trophies from the Peewee League.

The decorative trim on the ceiling also points to the high hopes for everyone living here.

Trophies can be front and center in the living room.

The house, built in 2022, contains four bedrooms and four bathrooms — enough space for Mom, Dad, and at least three more athletes. The kitchen is ideal for post-training meals with its high-end appliances, custom cabinets, and a large island.

Post-game reviews can take place on the covered patio, while the hot dogs are grilled.
Football plays can be practiced in both the front and back yards of this house situated on three-quarters of an acre.

Listed at $1.1 million, the two-story features an open floor plan so after-game parties can excitedly move from the kitchen to the living area and onto the dining area. Or to discuss the play-by-play, perhaps the booster club could wander out the sliding glass doors to the covered patio and enjoy the fireplace and built-in grill.

The large backyard, a part of the ¾ of an acre lot, is a big win. What better place to toss a football in preparation for future Super Bowls?

Misty Leatherwood, an agent with Cates & Company, will hold the house open from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday.

4014 Santa Barbara Drive, Dallas

Check out the shelves in this library. Wouldn’t this be a great place to showcase medals, trophies, and framed accolades? At 4014 Santa Barbara Drive in Dallas, what is now used as a library easily could become a trophy room. Great lighting so the athletic prizes could be seen oh-so-easily makes this a wonderful place to highlight the athlete’s achievements.

Think of the trophies these shelves could handle!

The Lakewood home’s two-story entrance would allow even the tallest of athletes to enter with ease. The open floor plan makes it a great house for a team celebration, especially in the kitchen with its marble countertops and its appliance roster of well-known superstars—Sub-Zero, Thermador, Wolf, and Bosch.

Located in Lakewood, this two-story was built in 2014.
The kitchen has everything needed for a rising athlete’s training table.

The 4,500 square feet contain five bedrooms, five bathrooms, a climate-controlled wine room, a study, and a flex room. The outdoor area scores with a covered dining area and a gas fireplace, a spot ideal for planning some new plays. The three-car garage would be a nice location for constructing homecoming floats. This Frank Blanchard home that blends traditional style with contemporary amenities was built in 2014 and is listed at $2.1 million.

Michael Humphries with Allie Beth Allman & Associates has listed this house which will be held open from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday.

5108 Knights Court, Flower Mound

Arranging trophies in these built-ins could be the focal point of this Flower Mound living area. But with 6,930 square feet, this estate has plenty of space to scatter sports hardware throughout the house that was built in 2001.

What a nice spot for conversing about all the trophies that could fill these shelves.

Perched on 1.13 acres, this house is located in Point Noble, a luxurious, heavily treed neighborhood of custom homes. Taking in the views of Lake Grapevine just might be a way for an athlete to get a game face on before kickoff or to calm down after a big all-star clash.

Views of Lake Grapevine are part of the package.
Go ahead and invite the team for dinner. There’s room enough for that.

This five-bedroom, six-bath house received interior, exterior, and landscaping refreshes in 2021 and 2022. Updates include new floors, windows, plumbing fixtures, furnaces, plumbing fixtures, and a front porch addition.

There’s a lot for a jock to like here, including a mirrored exercise room. The four-car garage surely is large enough for a class homecoming float to be built there. And after a big game, the team could enjoy the outdoor kitchen and the infinity pool with sights of the lake.

Listing price for all this? $3.85 million.

Agents Michael Hershenberg and John Hershenberg will hold this house open from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday.
