1. Wisdom Way Lights, Haltom City

This family ups the ante every year with their themed, home Christmas light show, first going viral two years ago with a Selena-inspired show. This year, the Gonzalez family’s holiday show made an early debut with a special tribute to the Texas Ranger’s World Series win. You can visit their choreographed light show which now includes a  “Super Mario Bros.” show and two traditional Christmas themes through January 1, every night from 6-11 p.m. Visitors should remain in their cars and listen on 89.7 FM radio.

3. Elder Oaks Lights, Oak Cliff

North Texas Christmas Light displays

For more than 30 years, the Elder Oaks neighborhood of Oak Cliff has been putting on one of the best displays in town. About 96% of the homes in this charming mid-century niche put out lights, so you not only get a lovely drive through a great neighborhood, but plenty of bang for your buck. Located along three streets just south of the old Oak Cliff Country Club (Elderoaks Lane, Elderleaf Drive, and Elderoaks Place), the neighborhood scenes celebrate Christmas with homemade decorations that span medieval times to present day. Watch for signs that will tell you what station to tune in on your car radio.

This ambitious, tech-savvy family has managed to encapsulate about 30 of your all-time favorite Christmas movie moments into a few minutes of inspired holiday magic that will have you laughing and maybe a little teary-eyed. I go every year, and every year there’s something new. So. Cool.

They have transformed their home into a full Christmas adventure park with more than 2 million lights, a train, a carousel ride, Santa’s workshop, Sugar Plum Fairy Island, and activities galore. This is a ticketed experience, which you can purchase online or in person, and the event runs from 5:30-9 p.m. through December 23, 2023.

This two-mile drive or walk-through light show has everything from lights to live reindeer, a country Christmas store, visits with Santa and The Grinch (and hopefully more dancing).
