Are you the type of home admirer who gets bored looking at the same old, same old? Sure, this home might be big, and that house might be expensive, but let’s be honest — many homes look alike or carry an absurd price tag, and it’s hard to get excited about them.

Well, don’t worry because this week’s Tarrant County Tuesday column has your back. We’re always on the lookout for unique and exciting homes of all shapes, sizes, and price ranges to garner your attention.

How can we say this is a true unicorn home? Because only a few homes can be built in this small gated enclave backing to Ridglea Golf Course.

Today we have found one of those, “OMG! Honey, stop the car, I have to see what’s inside that home and I know the views are going to be spectacular,” type of homes.

So many different materials are mixed to make a Texas Modern home.

For real estate agents, the phrase “unicorn home” is almost as obnoxious and embarrassing as “location, location, location,” “Mediterranean,” and of course, “custom.” These phrases are frequently tossed around in the real estate community and need to be put to rest.

However, if there were a category called “True Unicorn Home” we would allow this home in it.

You probably could chip onto the green of hole #7 from your rooftop

A True Unicorn Home on Ridgela Golf Course

Where to begin? First of all, there are no words, photos, or videos that will do this home true justice. You have to walk through 4732 Villa Terrace to gain a true appreciation for the attention to detail, the meticulous craftsmanship, and the hours of deliberating choices that local homebuilder NB Custom Homes spent on their product.

The view from the main street level, which is actually the second level, is unimpeded for miles and miles.

The way the home is built into the land is very symbiotic. The homesite, measuring around a quarter of an acre, is not the easiest piece of dirt on which to build. How the builder massaged the land and home to create a three-level home with a walk-out basement, taking advantage of the slope and views, is awesome.

The Middle Level

From the street, the middle level would be considered the main level of this home. As we’ve mentioned (and we’ll expound more later) this home is literally built into a hillside thus allowing for a full walk-out basement. The middle level features a private study off the entryway and an open living, eating area, and a gourmet kitchen. And of course, this level has plenty of windows and balconies to experience the captivating views of Ridglea Golf Course and beyond.

We love the waterfall counter on island, and when you fill that wine fridge up, call me!
Don’t you love the asymmetrical windows and transoms and the views of Ridglea Golf Course?

The Upper Level

The upper level is where the main bedrooms are found. There are a total of four bedrooms, three bathrooms, one utility room, and more Ridglea Golf Course views. Have you noticed this home does not lack amazing views?

The upper level has four bedrooms but could probably sleep 20.
The primary bedroom has a coffee bar as well as great windows and views.
If you fill all the cabinets and drawers in the primary bath, you’ll know it’s time to declutter.

The Lower Level: The Walk-out Basement

So many options and opportunities are found in the lower level of 4732 Villa Terrace. For starters, it holds a second full kitchen, possibly two bedrooms, a bathroom, and yes, here we go again, views of Ridglea Golf Course. You can have a game room, a media room, a home office … whatever you want.

This lower level would be a spectacular space for aging parents or post-college kids who don’t want to flee the home or get off the payroll. Or it could be a fantastic space for Longhorn football-watching parties or when the Rangers sweep the Astros in a few weeks.

There are so many fun opportunities with the lower level.

Run, Don’t Walk!

Get a move on and see this “True Unicorn Home” in person and then you’ll understand every rambling word of gibberish that I’ve tried to convey today. Giddy-up!

Susan Cook and Amber Sustala of Williams Trew Real Estate have listed 4732 Villa Terrace and the Ridglea Golf Course views that come with it for $3.395 million.
