I always smile when people tell me they are looking for their “forever home.” What exactly is a forever home anyways? People want a home so perfect that they’ll love it so much and will live there until, well, forever.

Whether it’s your Forever Home or just for now…this historic home is a classic

But you know what? Life happens. Searching for that perfect “forever home” that not only meets your needs for today but will meet them for tomorrow as well is a noble task to undertake. While a forever home might work for some people, studies show that people live in their homes on average for five to seven years.

Twice Featured in Tarrant County Tuesday

Even when a buyer finds that “forever home,” life still happens. People get jobs in other cities or states. People get married and move away. Couples divorce and sell the home. Families multiply and need a bigger home, or the kids grow up and the parents don’t need or want such a large home.

Homes with porches are always a favorite of Tarrant County Tuesday

Which brings us to today’s Tarrant County Tuesday featured home. It’s a glorious historic home built in 1926 in the Fairmount neighborhood of Fort Worth. This home was originally featured in 2017 and is now back on the market.

Thus, 2201 Lipscomb Street is the first and only home we have featured twice as available for sale since the inception of Tarrant County Tuesday in 2016. Did the current sellers think they bought their “forever home” back in 2017 only to put it on the market six years later? Possibly. Could this be the forever home for the next lucky homeowner? It very well could be, that’s why real estate makes the American economy go round and round.

The Historic Wimberly House

As noted in 2017, the home at 2201 Lipscomb Street is known as the Wimberly House and was officially entered into the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. Obviously, many updates, changes, and possibly improvements have been made since 1926, but the charm and character still remain.

The grand foyer welcomes you with its ornate staircase and gleaming hardwood floors. The soaring ceilings, adorned with delicate moldings, create an ambiance of sophistication. As you make your way through the home, you’ll notice the elegant dining room, ideal for hosting memorable dinner parties, and the cozy living room, perfect for relaxing evenings by the fireplace.

The kitchen is a culinary enthusiast’s dream come true, featuring state-of-the-art appliances seamlessly integrated into custom cabinetry that pays homage to the home’s historical roots. Whether you’re a seasoned chef or simply enjoy the art of cooking, this kitchen is sure to inspire your culinary adventures.

There’s a great courtyard between the main home and the detached apartment.

In all, the home is 3,890 square feet with four bedrooms and two-and-one-half bathrooms. Both inside and outside there are wonderful areas to relax and enjoy. But wait, there’s more — how about a detached garage apartment for a little passive income or smelly children?

Behind the gate is a garage apartment.

Being the first repeat customer for Tarrant County Tuesday is quite a badge of honor. Certainly, in time we will highlight more homes that have previously been featured — Fort Worth is full of Realtors who have helped buy and sell the same home over and over and over again.

Whether you are looking for your “forever home” or a beautiful historic home of elegance in a fantastic neighborhood, take a moment to check out 2201 Lipscomb Street. You never know, you might live there forever.
