Dallas Police: Teen Arrested in May 19 Preston Center West Shooting Was Out On Bond

A 17-year-old man was arrested last week in the shooting death of a Dallas security guard at a Preston Center West parking garage on May 19.
Antwon Osborne, 17, was taken into custody on May 23 in Nevada and is awaiting extradition, authorities said.
Detective Jonequia Acrond, who is handling the case for the Dallas Police Department, did not respond to a request from CandysDirt.com for more information. It wasn’t until May 31 that local media were notified of the arrest.
Osborne was out on bond for another crime when the shooting occurred, according to documents obtained by CandysDirt.com.
Access to Dallas Police Department data has been limited since a May 3 ransomware attack compromised city servers. The PD’s crime dashboard has not been updated in almost a month, and open records requests are up to three months behind.
Police said at the time of the Preston Center West incident that a gunman shot a security guard who confronted him while he was breaking into a vehicle.
Adalberto Santiago, the 34-year-old security guard, died at the hospital following the incident, and the gunman got away. Police located the getaway car, a gold Toyota Camry, shortly after the shooting at a parking lot on North Cockrell Hill Road.
Wow, this is great news! I would be interested to know the details of how they were able to identify and find the suspected killer. My guess is he is the registered owner of the gold Camry.
Welll… sure am glad the city gave him the opportunity to kill another person.
Cuz thats what justice is all about…let ’em out and hope they don’t kill someone…
Stupid city legal system…
So very sorry for Adalberto Santiago, the 34-year-old security guard’s family. I wish the few news pieces on this crime started with naming Mr Santiago. They always start a security guard…. You have to look for his name and few articles or news reports don’t even mention his name! There’s been very little, if any, reports about this man who gave his life doing his job. It’s a very sad commentary on our society.
