Ebby Halliday Companies Team Learns, Wins Awards at LeadingRE Conference

There’s an inspirational quote that goes something like, “When everything is uncertain, everything that is important becomes clear.” That’s certainly true in residential real estate these days. Ask any agent their strategy for this challenging market, and they’ll probably tell you it’s the right time to focus on what is proven and on thinking outside the Supra box.

That was certainly the focus of this week’s Leading Real Estate Companies of the World’s 2023 Conference Week at the 5-star, 5-diamond Wynn Las Vegas. The industry’s best and brightest, including approximately 30 agents and leaders from Ebby Halliday Companies, could choose sessions from one of five tracks, including one devoted to luxury clientele and another to leading their agents well. They came back with big ideas for how to work smarter and how to navigate these waters when factors beyond their control are driving consumer confidence. The EHC delegation was the largest to attend from North Texas.

Ebby Halliday Companies President Carolyn Rosson, far right, spoke on a panel at last week’s LeadingRE conference in Las Vegas.

Carolyn Rosson, President of the Ebby Halliday Companies, spoke on a panel about recruiting and retention. “Our ever-changing industry requires real estate professionals to remain curious, diligent, and forward-thinking,” she said. “When they have an open mind and an appetite for knowledge, there will always be a path to growth.”

The Ebby Halliday Companies, which include Ebby Halliday Realtors, Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate, and Williams Trew, is a founding member of Leading Real Estate Companies of the World. What is Leading RE? The global network comprises 565 vetted firms with 130,000 sales associates able to share listings with prospects around the world. Within LeadingRE is an even more exclusive network called Luxury Portfolio International. LPI helps connect the most powerful luxury firms and sales associates through their 220 member firms, 60+ of which are from outside the United States. The LPI luxury real estate website is translated into nine languages and displays property values in multiple currencies.

The group was also invited to attend an exclusive preview party for two developments in Aspen — Aura Snowmass and Cirque Residences at Viceroy Snowmass hosted by fellow Luxury Portfolio member Slifer Smith and Frampton

While the conference was largely about networking, an extensive list of expert speakers offered insights to attendees in the form of general sessions and master classes. They engaged in immersive learning and idea sharing and heard from pioneers in marketing and technology.

Speakers for the conference included Seth Mattison, an internationally renowned expert on business resilience, engagement, and leadership; Michelle Gielan, bestselling author of Broadcasting Happiness, and a featured professor for Oprah’s Happiness course; and Jamil Qureshi, a world-class motivator who has inspired some of the most successful and highest performing athletes, artists, and business leaders. Other highlights included panels comprising members from all over the world, as well as luxury brands outside of the real estate space to inspire ideas on providing luxury service to clientele. Those speakers included leading interior designer Timothy Corrigan, Christophe Georges, President and CEO for Bentley Motors, Inc., and Matthew Rubinger, Chief Commercial Officer at 1stDibs.

Mickey Alam Kahn, President of LPI, spoke against the backdrop of a recent Ebby Halliday sale, one of the highest in North Texas for 2022.

Rosson acknowledged a highlight of the week was having the EHC Marketing team named Winner of “Company Brand and Property Advertising” for firms with 501+ associates. The team was also nominated in the Brand Builder and Consumer Materials categories.

“We are thrilled that our work stood out in such distinguished company,” Rosson says. “The Ebby name is widely recognized throughout the country for this and other reasons. Many attendees would come up and start talking to us when they saw our nametags. It was flattering to hear their perspective on our reputation and status in the industry.”

Cody Baker, Director of Advertising for the Ebby Halliday Companies Marketing Department, summarized some of his key takeaways from the week.

“Agents and brokerages have been a bit spoiled these last few years, with demand and home values at all-time highs and interest rates at all-time lows,” Baker said. “Many new players have entered the market, especially in North Texas, so there’s been a growing need to find new ways to stand out in a cluttered, competitive, and normalizing market.”

“And for anyone on the fence about buying or selling,” Baker continued, “we heard that ‘The best time to buy real estate was 50 years ago. The second best time to buy real estate is today. And the third best time to buy is tomorrow.’”

The exclusive affiliation between Ebby Halliday Companies and LeadingRE/Luxury Portfolio is one of the reasons why EHC agents and their clients have an advantage over other more local or regional brokerages. Are you ready to start your home search? Contact your favorite EHC agent today.
