After a Fantastic Remodel, This Westcliff Home on Ranier Court is Just Right

Sometimes previewing homes for Tarrant County Tuesday is like the story of Goldilocks and the three bears. Hang with me here.

The homes that are truly over the top, not only absurdly priced but ostentatious in design and style, those are the bowls of porridge that are too hot.

Then there are the homes (probably still absurdly priced) that are poorly designed, not updated, or updated in a dated style. Those are the bowls of porridge that are too cold.

Finally, there are homes that just feel like home. Those that are well appointed, well priced, and well designed. Those are the homes that are just right.

A Goldilocks House in Westcliff

Let me share with you a home that Goldilocks, the three bears, and you will love. Welcome to 4140 Ranier Court in the Westcliff neighborhood of Fort Worth.

Built in 1989, this single-story home of nearly 3,900 square feet features a well-designed floor plan that has recently been updated in a classic, timeless, and yet elegant style. You won’t find any part of this home that will be dated or off-trend in a few years. Even the massive oak trees that are found all around this corner homesite are beautiful and mature.

The Right Kind of Remodel

The current owners of this three-or-four-bedroom home recently took the home through an extensive update and it certainly is obvious.

Unlike some remodel projects that try to get too trendy or cute to showcase areas of a home that have value only to the current owner (i.e., overly large wine area or workout room or built-in coffee bar with an expensive machine that makes good coffee but will break and be hard if not impossible to repair or replace), this remodel was well planned.

The project was perfectly performed by the local home building and remodeling company Hutyra Homes of Fort Worth. It’s a privilege to see a home that has been tastefully updated and has an understated elegance about it.

There is no carpet in the home. That’s a huge benefit. Windows in some rooms have been turned into French doors, and the colors and materials are muted and yet clean and crisp.

The inviting family room spills over to the kitchen and the windows are magnificent.

It’s also small and simple things like running the cabinets in the kitchen to the ceiling. You’d be amazed and how many “custom homes” stop the cabinets with 18 inches or more to go to the ceiling and all that’s left is either a space for dust bunnies or tacky roosters.

A huge island, a built-in fridge, double Wolf ovens, and a gas cooktop make the kitchen stand out.

Earlier I mentioned the home is either three or four bedrooms. That is because one of the bedrooms is currently styled and being used as a den. With an en suite bathroom, it can easily revert back to a bedroom if four bedrooms are needed.

This is just a great home. It’s elegant and comfortable, not showy or over the top with unnecessary spaces and trendy materials. This is a place to enjoy. It was a true pleasure to preview it for Tarrant County Tuesday.
