This Remodel in Mount Auburn Has a Lot of Updates And a Prime Location

Mount Auburn is a neighborhood you might not be super familiar with. At least not the name itself, but the location is one you know.

It’s in East Dallas off Grand Avenue near Interstate 30. Over there you’ll find El Taco Loco (and tons of other taco spots) and Kalachandji’s, a Hare Krishna temple that is also home to one of the most popular vegetarian restaurants in the city. It’s an obviously chill place where you can eat on the patio surrounded by trees and, you know, serenity.

And I’m just going to go ahead a tip you off. This write-up is a three-parter. Part One, Mount Auburn, check. Part Two, this little redone-from-the-inside-out cool kid masterpiece. And Part Three is Ebby Halliday’s Renie Masi, but hold your dang horses, we’ll get there.

Masi’s listing at 1100 S. Beacon St. was completely remodeled in 2019 and 2020 and Masi said it was a total labor of love. She also called out that Mount Auburn is seeing a bit of a revival, most likely due to its proximity to downtown Dallas, Lakewood, and White Rock Lake.

The interior of this Beacon Street remodel is wide open with no walls in between the entry, living and kitchen. The ceiling is lined with recovered planks that are just freaking cool. They mirror the luxury vinyl plank on the floor and they’re separated by a sea of cool gray. (The sea in this metaphor is a wall and more specifically wall color.)

The remainder of the home is clean, crisp, open, and updated. It’s perfect for an investment property, Masi said, since there are two true primary bedrooms. (It’s also listed as for sale or for lease.)

Now, Part Three: Masi. Let’s talk about this bio, which is adorable and filled with personality. It’s not the same old thing. She does it her way and you bet there’s a line that says, “Scrappy with a dash of sparkle and shine, a whole lot of hustle, and always up for a challenge.” HELLO. Andshe signs off with, “Not your same old boring Realtor. Experience The Renie difference.” I kind of wish there was a © at the end of that, but no matter, I’m into it!
