For those seeking out the latest in residential technology, CEDIA is at the epicenter of innovation, ideas, and inspiration. This multi-day mega show brings together hundreds of household names in pro audio, entertainment, lighting, and beyond.

This year, Dallas was chosen to play host as the industry’s top innovations were unveiled and exhibited for all to see. Therefore, we were incredibly excited to take a peek at all things up-and-coming in the world of luxury home innovations, and we’re even more excited to share them with you.

Here, we’ll look at a few of our favorites in this highlight reel of smart home technology.

Crestron Reimagines The Power of Lighting

One of the most intriguing exhibits at CEDIA 2022 came from Crestron, an audiovisual automation and integration pacesetter. This year, they brought the wow factor with a personalized LED lighting system that can sync to your circadian rhythm while mimicking and adapting to the natural light outside your window.

John Clancy, a spokesperson for Crestron, was excited to walk us through this showstopping innovation.

“Managing circadian rhythm is really what this is all about,” said Clancy. “The color, temperature, and intensity of these lights change throughout the day. Also, we’ve given the user the ability to customize that rhythm specific to them.”

With Crestron’s fully customizable suite of LED fixtures, there’s really no mood, ambiance, or atmosphere you can’t set. You literally have to see it to believe it.

Kohler Continues to Show up in Smart Toilet Space

One of the most exciting trends in smart home technology comes from the bathroom. These days, smart toilets are becoming as common as integrated audio or high-end entertainment systems.

Kohler has long been a major player in this space with striking design and futuristic features. For CEDIA, they had their Eir, Veil, and Karing bidet toilets on display. Each of these toilets features customized cleaning modes with comfort features like heated seats and warm water washes. They also look incredible in any bathroom.

The Josh Revolution

Last but on least, home integration innovator, Josh, put on an immersive experience with their comprehensive suite of home automation tools. An up-and-comer in smart home tech, Josh has built a fully integrated automation interface that allows you to do everything from set mood lighting to arm an alarm system — all with natural voice commands.

This year, the Josh team built a beautiful prop set to display the incredible capabilities of their technology.

Alex Capecelatro, a spokesperson for the company, was excited to show us all this technology entailed.

“A lot of people know us for voice control,” said Alex. “But our big focus this year is on home intelligence. So, it’s the interplay between apps, remotes, and voice that lets you easily and seamlessly interact with all the spaces in your home. Whether it’s lights, alarms, AV, TV, we’re trying to make it really intuitive and really simple.”

Besides these standouts, CEDIA had a wealth of high-tech home automation, integration, and entertainment inventions to browse. If you’re interested in equipping your living spaces with the latest technology, this event is the one for you.
