Yet Another Winnetka Heights Winner…Maybe Even The Winningest

Share News:

You guys, I’m trying to leave Winnetka Heights, but I just CAN’T. Here’s another stunner from your pal and mine, Dave Perry-Miller’s Emily Ruth Cannon.

It’s a craftsman. True to the neighborhood. With a fabulous front porch. Check and check on Winnetka Heights. It’s like a pre-req. But this one has a little va-va-va-voom-y extra.

And here’s how it goes. Now you know we can never make CLAIMS, but we can state facts and let you draw your own conclusions. FACT: The person that rebuilt this home was the owner of Sheffield Plumbing. As in those pipes might be real, real good. Again, NOT A CLAIM, merely a fact.

Another fact … The current owner of this home is a Cordon Bleu France-trained chef so the kitchen renovation might be second to none. Again, pro-level with gorgeous brass fixtures, a corresponding matte black and brass range, and a pot filler that’s not brass, but it’s a freaking pot filler. (Straight from Cannon’s mouth because of the way with words on this one…)

This kitchen is so pretty it could make you cry. Like if this were old-school Wheel of Fortune where your little head made a cameo in the top corner while you shopped for prizes, I’d take one of everything. Most notably the vent-a-hood. I don’t know my deal with those, but this one is a real beaut. And that zellige tile. Where’s my crying for real emoji when I need it? JEEZ LOUISE IT’S SO PRETTY.

What’s zellige? Glad you asked. “Zellige Tile is a variety of glazed terracotta tile originally handmade in Morocco.” Want more? Okay. “Zellige is kiln-fired over olive branches, giving each tile a unique glaze, color, and texture. No two zellige tiles are exactly alike, so every zellige application ends up being a unique tapestry of vibrant colors and delicate textures.” PHEW.

What else is there to love in this home? Everything. Built-ins in the hallway, front bedroom, and living spaces. A light, neutral palette throughout. And the front door opens from both sides. Oh, and about that porch, it has a swing and you bet your sweet Folgers crystals, the owners enjoy their morning coffee out there on the reg.

If you’re a park person, get in while the getting’s good. The new Kevin Sloan Park is right down the block.

And it also has an income-producing property out back. I told you, extra va-va-va-VOOM.

Cannon has 404 S. Clinton Ave. listed for $650,000 and she’s holding it open from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday.
