Two Architects Own This Tudor And That’s Really All You Need to Know

Double architect alert! That’s who owns (and remodeled) this Tudor-y Tudor on Elmwood Blvd. in Oak Cliff. It fronts to a greenbelt and it’s adorable. It’s just about as crisp and clean as they come.

Starting in 2018, they updated the primary bathroom, redid the sewer main and electrical, gas lines in crawl space, plumbing, installed a gas furnace in the attic and a 4-ton condensing unit … all the stuff that makes your little adult self do responsibility cartwheels.

They also refinished the original hardwoods and interior doors. In 2019 they added a second bathroom. Again, Arsenio arm.

And then in 2021, they created their best project yet, the finished detached garage. It’s freaking DREAMY.

Dave Perry-Miller’s Emily Ruth Cannon said it’s truly a three-car garage so it’s HUGE, but it only has two garage doors, so we’ll call it a twosie. And they converted it. And just look what they did! It’s, like, beautiful.

It’s lined with plywood and the concrete floors are finished to a level you normally find indoors. All that and there’s room for a home gym, ping pong table, and throw down some cardboard and breakdance if you want. Why? THERE’S ROOM.

There’s also a basketball hoop in there and Cannon pointed out it has its own private patio so it’s perfect for entertaining. In fact, there are three separate porch patios on this one. Lots of room to head outside with one of those dual fans around your neck.

Now we have to head back inside just one more time because of that kitchen! The cabinets. Oh my gosh, the cabinets. Don’t you want to live in that woodgrain? Because I do.

The other thing I love about this house is all the perfect color choices … you know, because architects. Dang, they’re so good, aren’t they? If you’d like to see this one I highly suggest already having your one foot in the car because she’s so good, she’s gone.

Dave Perry-Miller’s Emily Ruth Cannon has 1218 Elmwood Boulevard listed for $440,000.
