Everyday Ninjas Hiding in Plain Sight at the Ebby Halliday Companies

Sales Leaders from Ebby Halliday, Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate and Williams Trew all attended a Ninja Selling Installation to better understand how to support agents and adopt their mindset.

If you’ve ever worked with a really fantastic real estate agent – one who made the hard stuff look easy, was always several steps ahead in putting together a deal, and made things happen out of thin air – you may have been tempted to peek under their clothes for evidence they were something other than a mere human.

Odds are you saw the black shinobi shōzoku (a.k.a., ninja work clothes) that allow them to move in stealth mode and take care of business quickly and efficiently. And if you did, that can only mean one thing – they are a graduate of the Ninja Selling Installation, an intensive workshop for agents designed to increase sales production through a proven, systematic approach that works for ALL personality types, not just born salespeople.

Recently, sales leaders and corporate and office staff within the Ebby Halliday Companies were invited to attend a Ninja Selling workshop. They left with fresh insights as to why so many Ebby Halliday Realtors, Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate, and Williams Trew agents see exponential growth in their own repeat and referral business upon completion of a Ninja Selling Installation.

Denaige Pizzutello, Professional Development Officer for EHC, offers the intensive 4-day program to agents a few times a year, and thought it would be beneficial for leadership and support staff to participate as well, increasing their support role abilities. There are upcoming installations on the calendar for June 14-17 and October 11-14 of 2022.

“Agents tell me that it changes their lives, both professionally and personally,” Pizzutello says.  “That it’s a game-changer and it validates who they are because it’s a ‘selling system’ – minus the salesy part. And after tracking data, we can corroborate that agents who attend a Ninja Installation average 4 to 6 more transactions per year than our companywide agent average.”

“Having been in the business since 1985,” Pizzutello continued, “I’ve seen many systems, webinars and workshops, and I believe in their systems and beliefs most. Ninja is simple because it’s a mindset that teaches you to be grateful and come from a place of abundance so you can reach out to clients in a genuine and caring way. Unless you’ve been to an installation, it’s really hard to explain the full impact it has on you. It forever changed me.”

Betsy Cameron, Vice President of Business Initiatives, appreciates the system’s counterintuitive approach.

“The first Ninja Principle is ‘stop selling,’ Cameron says. “Many agents are blown away by the thought. But if they can let go of that mindset, it really starts the dominoes falling. They are not always looking at others as a prospect or tying outcomes to their business goals. And that frees them up to enjoy the relationship-building part of this career, which is probably what brought them to the industry in the first place.”

Sales Leader Rene Barrera (Ebby 190 – Richardson) attended in the fall and says, “The Ninja experience really lives up to what they say it’s going to be, which is inspiring and gives a lot of direction and really gives you a sense that if you follow the system, the system works. But if you don’t have a system this is a great way to actually put together the specifics required for you to be successful.

“I’ve been an agent for 20 years and a sales leader for just over five,” Barrera continues, “and I firmly believe that having these processes and systems in place has given me back time with my family, and for the things I want to do.”
