RE/MAX is short for Real Estate Maximums. The RE/MAX brand is highly recognizable because it’s been around a very long time. Founded in 1973, the company began offering franchise opportunities in 1975 and by 1994 had expanded internationally. Now you’ll find RE/MAX operating in 110 countries, speaking over 60 languages, with 140,000 agents in 8,300 offices. The name is synonymous with success and RE/MAX DFW Associates is one of the most successful franchises.

RE/MAX DFW

Mark and Kay Wolfe are the founders and co-owners of RE/MAX DFW Associates. Kay is the majority owner, so RE/MAX DFW Associates is a woman-owned business.

Mark and Cyndi Cook, the Director of Marketing, recently gave me insight into what 2021 was like for RE/MAX DFW Associates.

“We finished the year at $1.723 billion in sales volume,” Mark said. “That’s up 21 percent from the year before. I’ve been in this business for 48 years, had my company for 39 years, and have never seen anything like this market. The influx of people coming here from high-tech states is unreal. One out of ten of our sales last year were to California buyers.”

RE/MAX DFW Associates sales in the northern suburban market could not have been hotter. They finished the year with 31percent of their sales in Kaufman, Grayson, Hood, and Parker counties.

“Small towns are booming with growth.”

Small town growth is driven by the fact that work from home is a new reality and by smaller school districts that many people consider safer,” Mark said. “Buyers get more bang for their buck in these northern suburbs. For instance, in Coppell, we sell for $250.00 a square foot. If you go further north, it drops to $160-170 per square foot.”

“Our growth in the Frisco and Flower Mound offices has been phenomenal,” Cyndi said. “Last year we had 70 agents in Frisco, and now we have 105.”

“Frisco is like the new Preston Road of years ago where all the real estate offices wanted to be. It’s the melting pot for Prosper, Celina, and McKinney,” Mark said.

Renee McCurdy

RE/MAX DFW Associates finished the year with new homes making up 34 percent of all home sales. The year before, it was 17 percent. And most of those newcomers came to North Texas ready to pay in cash. “Besides increased equity in their homes in California and New York, they had more disposable income due to lack of spending opportunity during the pandemic,” Mark said. “We had one-third of our sales in cash. You put a home on the market and have 20 offers. Your seller is going to take the cash offer.”

Victor Vo

With five offices and 290 agents, RE/MAX DFW Associates has North Texas covered. Their agents and teams have pulled in unheard-of numbers. “Renee McCurdy listed a home in far north Dallas for $6.3 million,” Cyndi said. “She sold it immediately for $12.3 million in combined volume. Because she was on both sides of the transaction, the volume doubled.”

As for the most houses sold by one team, the Vasquez team closed 240 homes in 2021. “Their volume was right at $60 million,” Cyndi said. “They are known for being extremely reputable and taking care of their clients.”

Victor Vo is our number one individual agent in commissions earned as well as sales volume for 2021, but he’s at the top of his game every year,” Cyndi said.

So, what makes RE/MAX DFW Associates so successful?

Cyndi Cook, Director of Marketing

“We have a family culture here, Mark said. We did spotlight interviews with one manager interviewing 45 agents. They all said they were here because of that family feeling. I came from Ebby Halliday, and Ebby built that culture. I wanted to take the best that with me when I started my company. Real estate in Dallas is different from the rest of the country. We are not cut-throat here. We take care of each other. Cyndi is one of our great resources. She offers 90-minute sessions to agents, and they work on marketing needs. She builds their knowledge and makes sure they get maximum exposure.”

Community Focused

RE/MAX DFW Associates is also community-focused. The RE/MAX brand has been a sponsor of The Children’s Miracle Network since 1992, collectively raising well over 150 million dollars. In 2002 the company became a sponsor for the Susan G. Komen Race Breast Cancer Foundation Race for the Cure. “At closings, our agents contribute to a charity fund, and at our holiday Christmas event this year, 240 agents brought toys for The Children’s Miracle Network,” Cyndi said. “We have a superb group of agents that care about each other and the community.

Cyndi also does a lot of training, especially for new agents who don’t understand, for example, geographical farming. “If our agents are not successful, then we are not successful as a company,” Cyndi said.

“Last year was great, but we are even more excited about 2022, Mark said. “There has been quite a lot of analysis about what to expect, and because Texas is viewed as a freedom state, we will see even more of an influx of buyers from abroad, especially from Viet Nam, China, Korea, and Venezuela. Despite supply chain issues and interest rates rising, we feel that 2022 is going to be even better for RE/MAX DFW Associates than 2021!”
