Blue Quail Craft Builders Brings Authenticity to New Construction in North Hi Mount

You’d never guess 3924 Bunting Avenue was built in 2021 – it fits into the neighborhood perfectly

Authenticity. In today’s world of new construction, authenticity is probably not the first word that comes to mind to describe many of the homes. That’s about to change.

Blue Quail Craft Builders has officially taken flight in Fort Worth as a local homebuilder dedicated to building authentic homes, replicating styles and architectural designs that are true to form while not sacrificing the quality of materials, consideration for existing neighborhoods, and timeless legacy of well-crafted homes.

Blue Quail Craft Builders has officially launched in Fort Worth

The idea of Blue Quail came from the mind of local builder and designer, Rob Sell, of V Fine Homes in 2020 with a dedication to building homes of timeless beauty and exceptional quality.

“The need for new homes that actually fit into older neighborhoods is great,” said Sell. “It is of the utmost importance for us to be sensitive to the context of the neighborhood and not build a home that not only doesn’t fit into the neighborhood but will diminish the overall appeal of the area.”

“Authenticity is all about not cutting corners. Whatever the architectural style, we are going to adhere to tried-and-true authentic principles are mostly been ignored in today’s new home construction.” Sell added.

Deep front porches tend to be forgotten with many new homes. But not with Blue Quail Craft Builders.

A High Point For North Hi Mount

The first Blue Quail home has recently been completed in the North Hi Mount neighborhood of Fort Worth. If you didn’t know it was a brand new home you would immediately think it was an American Foursquare that had been there for decades and must have been recently remodeled.

You would be wrong.

This exquisite home of 3,775 square feet features three bedrooms, four bathrooms, multiple living rooms, dining rooms, and areas for relaxation. Unlike many original Foursquare homes, this one has amenities that weren’t considered necessities in the late 1800s to the early 1900s when the Foursquare design came into prominence.

All Blue Quail homes feature scratch-built 100 percent masonry fireplaces.

Amenities such as operable and energy-efficient wood windows, scratch-built 100 percent masonry fireplaces, smooth texture walls, lavish bathrooms, and huge closets are found here.

All of those features and many more are standards in all Blue Quail homes. Why? Because that’s how a home should be built — with authenticity.

Huge closets didn’t exist when Foursquare homes were introduced. Blue Quail is changing that.

Foundation of Principles

One of the most unique features of Blue Quail homes is the pier-and-beam foundation on which the home rests. Yes — I said that a new home builder in Texas in the year 2021 and beyond will actually be building homes where pier-and-beam foundations will be the standard foundation.

These homes were originally built with pier-and-beam foundations because concrete was expensive and it wasn’t easy to dig a foundation without maximum effort.

True American Foursquare homes should have steps that lead to the deep porch. With a pier-and-beam foundation the authentic look and feel is accomplished.

All woodwork throughout a Blue Quail home is actually wood, not fiberboard.

There is something different when walking on a wood floor of a pier-and-beam home versus a concrete slab. It just has that feel and sound as you enter the home that can’t be replicated when the wood is placed on a slab. The foundation is just one of the many principles that Blue Quail believes makes an authentic home.

Words cannot describe what Blue Quail brings to the table. Many new home builders use words such as “timeless” “classic” and “custom” but have little understanding of true architectural principles or building methods other than those that are designed to be cost-effective and expedient.

To gain a true understanding of what Blue Quail is accomplishing, you just have to experience it for yourself.

Blue Quail is offering just-finished 3924 Bunting Avenue for $1.35 million.
