The Ashton Agency has tabbed Kolby Stewart to serve as its new vice president. Along with providing a strategic vision, she will lead the agency’s operations and team management.

It’s a partnership that has been years in the making. Owner Ashton Theiss says she has never courted any person so long in her entire life.

“I just couldn’t imagine anyone would be a better fit or a more perfect partner for me,” Theiss said. “Kolby is going to help us continue to grow and we are super excited to have her.”

Stewart has been in real estate for nearly a decade. Over the course of her career, she’s helped close hundreds of millions of dollars in transactions and managed nearly 80 agents.

She and Theiss originally met back in 2014. They had both recently entered the real estate industry and figured it would be a good opportunity to connect and network.  They soon realized they were trying to recruit each other.   However, they both were happy with their working situations at the time and called a truce on those recruiting efforts. They became friends and continued down their individual career paths.

Having a five-month-old baby at home changed Stewart’s perspective. It helped make her realize that there were areas in her business where she still wanted to grow.

“This was just an opportunity to come into a situation that was fresh with someone young. I know her work ethic, her integrity, and her discipline align completely with mine,” Stewart says. “After three years of her knocking on my door and bugging me about it, I finally gave in”

The two will work together on the firm’s transactional business. The Ashton Agency specializes in both residential properties as well as land and ranch.  Earlier this year, the firm made headlines for closing a $31.5 million sale in Pagosa Springs, Colorado.  While they say they aren’t at liberty to reveal specifics yet, they say that they are currently working on a few large-scale projects which they hope to be able to announce soon.

“We are ready to take the world by storm,” Stewart said.
