M/I Homes, David Weekley Homes Collect McSAM Awards as Top Builders

The Dallas Builders Association-hosted 42nd annual McSAM Awards announced winners in 64 categories at a gala last month.

The McSAM Awards are given to builders, developers, and their associates who made a significant and creative contribution in residential marketing through specific achievements in a given year.

The gala presented in partnership with StrucSure Home Warranty was July 24 at the Westin Galleria Dallas. Former Olympian and professional football player Johnny Quinn was master of ceremonies.

Industry experts, including builders, architects, interior designers, and new home market professionals, from around the nation judged the awards. The winners are:

  • McSAM Builder of the Year: M/I Homes.
  • Developer of the Year: Newland Communities.
  • Builder Neighborhood of the Year: Ladera Rockwall by Integrity Group.
  • Home of the Year: The Grove Frisco 608 by Highland Homes.
  • Master Planned Community of the Year: Clements Ranch by Mabrey & Partners LLC (under 1,500 rooftops) and Pecan Square by Hillwood (over 1,500 rooftops).
  • Active Adult Home of the Year: Walsh Townhomes Bolton by Highland Homes.
  • Multifamily Community of the Year: Harmony Luxury Apartments by Huffines Communities.
  • Builder Project Manager of the Year: Klay Dodd with M/I Homes.
  • Marketing Professional of the Year: Kelsey Covey with Meritage Homes.

People’s Choice awards reward builders and developers based on consumer voting based on an online survey to hundreds of homebuyers. The winners are:

  • Builder of the Year: David Weekley Homes
  • Community of the Year: Pecan Square by Hillwood Communities
