The Winter Storm That Was The Ultimate WTF

Share News:

It’s hard to believe (mostly because time has no meaning anymore) that two weeks ago we were breaking the ice in the toilet bowl (like the poor person below) to avoid splashback from our tinkle in what has to be the winter storm that was the ultimate Wednesday WTF.

But yeah, we were doing all of that.

And if you’re lucky, you escaped with only some spoiled food and an appreciation for Laura Ingalls Wilder. If you were slightly less lucky, you escaped with a frozen pool pump and 500 pounds of dead D batteries. But if you were extremely unlucky, the thaw from the subzero temperatures brought your own personal waterfall – or waterfalls – within your home.

And so many of you took to social media to express just how they felt about all of it. I mean, hell, I took to the Wednesday WTF to talk about it.

And since misery loves company and company creates body warmth, we decided to take a perusal of those social media posts to see how everyone was taking the stupid weather.

Like this poor flipper in Friendswood who finished a flip, staged it, and then was hit square in the jeans by the winter storm.

Or this Houston homeowner who awoke to a deluge.

And this car owner who had the incredible bad luck of parking directly under a pipe — that then burst.

I mean, we were really taking it in the biscuits.

TikTok also had quite a few reactions — and what’s fun about TikTok is you get to hear the reactions, too.

When I was scrolling through, you can just see how done people are in this screenshot:

But lo, there is a children’s treasury of TikTok fun if you look at the hashtag #TexasWinterStorm2021.

But mostly, I agree with this TikTok user – tacos would’ve made this a lot more bearable.

Not that we could get there, since everything was frozen over.

Have any pictures to share? Any residual anger? Let it all out in the comments.

Adlene has been a real estate writer for the better half of a decade, but only recently came to CandysDirt.com to write our Wednesday WTF column. Have a doozy of a listing not fit for public consumption? She wants to see it.
