This North Oak Cliff Tudor Has an Incredible Surprise Inside

Share News:

You know how you look at one thing and you expect it to be a certain way and then you see the inside and your pupils turn into hearts like a cartoon character and you did not even see that coming? That’s pretty much what’s happening here.

On the outside, super cute little brick Tudor. Nothing terribly unusual. Nice landscaping though. Desert-y with some gotta be Texas native brush (I’m not a botanist), well that’s nice. I like that.

Arched entryway leading you onto a cute lil’ porch, what am I, new at life? Love it.

And then you open the door and hear come the power ballads.

It’s been completely reconfigured and it’s so open and airy and light and bright and well, just beautiful. It is absolutely no shock an architect and an interior designer live here.

That hanging looong cabinet-shelfy-thing? That was custom-made for their records. Of course, it was, they’re two cool kids and they have a cool agent — Compass’ Emily Ruth Cannon.

Canon’s the one that tipped us off to the fact that these two aren’t semi-pros, they’re total pros. In fact, she said the question she gets the most is, “Are they selling the furniture?”

It’s amazing. And they’re not. But drool stains.

The kitchen is custom and cost on the upside or $100,000. It’s so modern and contemporary and not what you’d expect but again, this couple knows what they’re doing.

Now the artist vibes inside aren’t new. In fact, the previous owner (whom the current sellers purchased this home from) was an artist, too.

In addition to all the amazing updates and incredible detail that’s very apparent in all these pictures, there’s a big-time bonus – an artist (or architect) studio out back. It’s the blue room above.

Now some of the details you might have missed because, let’s face it, the level of stunning in this home is off the charts, are the built-in dog kennel in one of the bedrooms, the huge primary bathroom, the designer wallpaper in the secondary bathroom and the fact everything was designed so all your toys, blankets, etc. can be tucked away for a crisp and clean appearance.

All and all, this Tudor has a lot to love. And it’s on a corner lot which provides that expansive backyard with the very magical studio.

If you’d like to take a look, give Cannon a call. I blew her up so we know she answers. Ha.

She has this Tudor at 1202 Newport Ave. with the surprise inside (and out) listed at $380,000. Oh, and details – it’s a three-bedroom, two-bathroom with a very well-appointed 1,582 square feet.

What’s no surprise is Newport had multiple offers this weekend and selected one Sunday. If you hear open-mouth wailing, don’t worry that’s just all of us thinking of what might have been.

We went to the open house on Sunday and spoke to the realtor and she seemed super cool and nice, but then around 4 she told our agent she needed all the offers by 6:30. So that was super weird and annoying. We had 2 hours to get a pre-approval letter and make an offer (on a Sunday evening), and only pulled it off because our agent is a rockstar. I’m curious how much it actually sold for.
