A Fresh Look For Traditional Tudor

Share News:

There’s a real hot little area over in Oak Cliff that’s getting hotter by the minute. It’s Beckley Club Estates and Cedar Oaks. It’s off Interstate 35 and it’s literally 10 minutes from downtown Dallas. It backs to the Dallas Zoo. There are wild peacocks roaming the streets and you’ve likely heard this all before.

There’s a Klyde Warren-style park that’s slated to go in within the next few years and as Dave Perry-Miller’s Rob Elmore pointed out, all the construction TxDOT is currently doing is working around and making space for that deck park. That fact alone makes even doubters doubt a little less.

In the heart of it all there’s a complete and total gut job. With 1,884 square feet, it’s large for the area. Elmore calls it a Tudor-style meets 2020 with an eye for the contemporary. A quick look inside and you’ll see he’s not making it up.

With those walls, a showpiece of a fireplace, and a quartz waterfall in the kitchen, this house is a checklist of what’s hot in home trends.

The fireplace is tiled and it’s electric which means it actually puts off heat without filling your home with smoke. Hallelujah.

There’s oak flooring in the living, carpet in the bedrooms and tile in the bathrooms. In the primary bathroom that literally feels like a spa, there’s an elevated clawfoot tub as a nod to the original Tudor construction.

Everything else is light and bright and again, for this era, that’s a big ol’ bathroom.

In the secondary bathroom, the remodeler added a dual sink vanity and stayed true to the white and gray color scheme.

There’s a laundry room. HOORAY! That’s all I have to say to that. Just hoo-ray.

Out back you’ll find a detached garage and what’s that? A finished out 11-by-17-foot room that Elmore said could be a home office, studio, or Zoom room. And it’s the first time I’ve heard that so Elmore gets all the credit.

Also, Zoom. Ugh.

Here’s another thing I asked Elmore because when you’re interviewing an area expert, you go all in: Are the Central Market rumors true?

He said doesn’t know for sure, but H-E-B does own the plot of land at Davis and Beckley so maybe someday …

There’s a lot to love about 1522 Arizona Ave. and if you’d like to take a look, reach out. Elmore has this three-bedroom, two-bathroom house listed at $365,000.
