Park Place Dealerships Teams Up With Habitat For Humanity For Good

I don’t know if you’ve noticed it or not, but it’s a bit divisive out there. We could all use a little bit of good news and here it is, brought to you by Park Place Dealerships.

Every year the Park Place Cares program supports more than 300 local organizations, but this year they decided to tackle their biggest initiative ever – teaming up with Habitat for Humanity.

For this single project, over 160 volunteers from the Park Place family will donate over 1,000 hours to build a home for a family in need. And they’ll do it all in 10 weeks. They broke ground on the project last Wednesday, October 7. It’s slated to wrap on December 9 which means one family will be able to call the Park Place house their home just in time for the holidays.

Park Place Dealerships GMs join Tony Carimi and the future Habitat homeowners Rosemary and Wilber Salmeron to drive in the ceremonial “first nails” for their new home.

It’s a pretty impressive undertaking and one that Park Place is extremely proud of.

The dealerships’ marketing director, Anam Ali Hashambhai, explained, “Affordable housing is a significant challenge in Dallas. By providing a family with an opportunity to own their home, we are making our community a stronger and better place for everyone.” She added, “We are all committed to building a better Dallas as we transform families.”

The average income for a qualifying family is $40,000, which presents obvious challenges to own ownership. In 2019, Habitat for Humanity provided 54 new homes for families in need and this year they’re expected to complete 38. That’s in spite of COVID-19 which as we all know, has been a bit of a bugaboo.

We’ve heard rumors of building materials being in short supply, shipping dates being delayed, and everything taking longer than it typically would. Despite all of that, these two organizations are pulling it together and making it happen.

This isn’t anything new for either organization. In fact, throughout their 33-year history, Park Place Dealerships has been dedicated to what they call their four pillars of community outreach – arts, education, children’s advocacy, and medical research.

And guess what? They’re always open to sponsorships. If you’d like to apply, you can fill out a form on their website. Or if you’d like to follow along on the progress of this very special project, you can do that, too. Just head on over right here.
