JPAR Realtor Kim Taylor Is All About Exceeding Expectations

Kim Taylor knows what it takes to be successful in the real estate business: Exceed expectations. Build relationships. Respond quickly. And most important of all, always keep the faith.

The JP & Associates Realtor was recently nominated by JPAR CEO Mark Johnson for a CandysDirt.com’s Best in the Biz award. We instantly understood why. Kim is a 100 percent dedicated, driven, hard-working, nothing-is-impossible kind of person.

“I feel like real estate is my calling. God gives us the tools to be successful,” she says. “It’s crazy what my sales have been.”

The figures speak for themselves. Kim and her team are No. 3 in the company, racking up $15 million in sales year-to-date. She personally had 11 closings in July.

“The market is flipping insane this year,” she said. “We’re blowing all kinds of numbers out of the water.”

She admits she’s blessed to live in an affluent area. Charles Schwab and Ameritrade are just two of the businesses that have moved to the Alliance corridor in Fort Worth, now home to more than 470 companies sporting 47,500-plus employees.

“The amount of people moving here from out of state is astounding,” says Kim.

Talking to the seasoned pro, it seems almost inconceivable that she’s only been selling real estate since 2015. Both she and her husband Gordon (now the contract coordinator on her team) previously worked in oil and gas. When the market tanked — literally — they agreed real estate would be a solid career move.

“Timing-wise, it was perfect. I took the bull by horns and worked every lead,” says Kim. “It doesn’t matter whether you want to spend $150,000 or $550,000. If you need a house, I’m going to find you one.”

Her goal? To be the best agent a client has ever worked with.

“We don’t have a 9-to-5 job,” she says. “Time is of the essence. This is a baton-passing business. My job is to make sure that baton is being passed.”

Kim also believes there’s strength in numbers.

“I do better with a team than on my own. I’m very much a mentor, a people person, a spiritual mother of sorts.” (Hence, her hashtag #bettertogether.)

“I’m not in this for the money,” she adds. “It’s more about the comradery, the teaching, the training. That’s what I love to do.”

Kim donates 10 percent of her earnings to her church. Giving back to the community is part of her team’s vision statement.

Which doesn’t exclude enjoying the fruits of her labor. Kim, Gordon, and their four children (ages 16 to 25) recently moved to their “dream home” in Roanoke’s Briarwyck neighborhood.

“I’ve always wanted to live there. I watched the community being built.”

She acknowledges real estate brought her to this point. That, of course, combined with putting God first and her unwavering faith.

“I feel like I’ve stepped into my destiny,” she said. “I’m truly blessed.”
