Dallas Builders Association Member Spotlight: REKJ Builders

Share News:

We may be a little biased, but CandysDirt.com does have a habit for featuring the work of great builders, and Ray E. King Jr. happens to be one of them.

In fact, REKJ Builders did a great job updating a midcentury home we featured last year, showing just why we’re recognizing them in this week’s Dallas Builder Assocation Member Spotlight.

Find out more about Ray E. King Jr. and REKJ Builders as the CandysDirt.com staff highlights some of the spectacular members of Dallas Builders Association right here, asking these consummate professionals all about their business as a way to brag on the many quality, trustworthy builders in the North Texas area that can count themselves among their peers in the Dallas Builders Association:

What location or area do you primarily build in? What about the location makes it especially attractive?

East Dallas. We love the ability to build beautiful Contemporary Modern Homes with amazing views of the Dallas skyline from our rooftops.

We feel East Dallas will be another epicenter of Dallas due to the massive development taking place in the area. The future major De La Vega Development at 75/Haskell we make East Dallas a highly sought-after place to live and play!

What’s your go-to architectural style? Traditional? Contemporary? Old World? Modern?

Contemporary Modern or Midcentury Modern

How does your company provide value to your clients?

Expense Transparency and Speed of Build with quality as priority. Time is of the essence! As an experienced real estate broker we also keep in mind market value and ROI for budgeting.

Have you received any recent awards? What for? From whom?

CandysDirt.com has recognized a prior smaller Midcentury Remodel on 2222 Forest Oaks.

Considering the competition, how does your brand distinguish itself?

We use premium-grade build materials and advanced building technology. We invest in quality behind the walls, which is seen but is appreciated years down the road. Quality materials that last and protect the home longer

What does being a member of the Dallas Builders Association do for you and your business?

I recently joined for the education and networking. I quickly realized the benefit of being a part of an association that is actively working to help its members. I joined weeks before COVID-19 struck. I am grateful for all the information, documentation, and recommendations of action that I received during those difficult and confusing times. They helped me stay focused, aware, and in compliance with the city ordinances.

I look forward to learning a great deal more with the association!

What is the biggest challenge you face in the current market? What are you doing to overcome it?

One challenge is buyer education of build quality. To overcome hurdles is to educate buyers on the importance of quality behind the walls (unseen).

COVID-19 was a new challenge we were presented with. To overcome we again had to simply strive to educate our buyers and provide virtual tours to our homes. I feel our biggest challenges can be overcome by education. We educate ourselves and/or buyers to overcome challenges.
