Are you tired of working hunched over the coffee table in the family room? This gorgeous, brand new Hawkins-Welwood home in Preston Hollow is such a delicious treat for the eyes and the ultimate set up for a busy couple working from home. Or even Papa Bear, Mama Bear, and Baby Bear, who’ll each have their own perfect workspace.

We always keep an eye on Hawkins-Welwood homes, but this Preston Hollow home at 6730 Pemberton, in particular, fits the bill right now. It’s a 7,145-square-foot modern English Tudor with beautiful natural light and all the elegant touches of a Hawkins-Welwood custom-built home.

Walking the hand-laid brick walkway up to the five-bedroom, five-and-half-bath home, you’ll notice the Tudor influences in the steeply-pitched roof, gabled windows, and timbered exterior.

Walk in and you’ll immediately appreciate the rich transitional style this spacious home offers. To the right, a dining room with herringbone white oak floors and to the left, a paneled study with Isokern fireplace and built-ins.

What’s more, the formal study is one of three workspaces at your disposal. Attached to this formal study is what Hawkins-Welwood is calling a “messy study.” It has a built-in desk, multiple drawers, and cabinet storage, and connects to the master bath and suite. How’s that for a swift commute?

The secondary office is located on the other side of the house, just off the kitchen and guest bedroom. It features even more storage and open shelving with patterned tile floors and natural light.

The white and wood kitchen features custom inset cabinets with under cabinet lighting and high-end Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances. Three custom pendant lights hang above the large island.

Across from the kitchen sits the modern glass and brick wine cellar, a trend you’re seeing pop up in luxury homes nationwide. (Cellars have moved up in the world, literally.) The climate-controlled wine storage can hold up to 150 bottles of wine. Pop those bottles at the nearby wet bar, which has a wine refrigerator and icemaker.

The floorplan flows openly between the kitchen, the veranda, and the living room, which has a coffered ceiling, Isokern fireplace, and two walls of windows. One wall looks out onto the backyard and the other onto the covered veranda with fireplace, ceiling fan, and tongue-and-groove ceiling.

Hawkins-Welwood has really brought the outside in with floor-to-ceiling windows, wide California sliding doors, and Phantom screens … So much so that my eyes are playing tricks on me, making me think there are no windows there at all.

Pemberton has a downstairs master suite with an impressive ensuite bathroom. It’s like two full baths in one, with two walk-in closets, two vanities, two toilet rooms, and separate tubs and showers. And remember you can access the “messy study” from the “his” side of the master bath.

Upstairs, there is a media room and game room, as well as three spacious bedrooms with dedicated bathrooms. Lots of room to spread out.

And maybe the nicest little feature you wouldn’t have thought of — a laundry shoot from upstairs straight down to the mudroom and laundry room. It’s the little things in life, isn’t it?

Kelly Ongena of Hawkins-Welwood has listed 6730 Pemberton for $2,850,000.
