Head Home To This Sweet Downtown McKinney Charmer

If you like the charm of a historical cottage with all the updates and want one that’s so picture perfect you almost can’t stand it, go check out this home in downtown McKinney (AKA The Mecca of suburban downtowns).

It’s so cute and walkable and we’ve written about it before so we won’t bore you with a regurge. It’s lovely, though, and perfect and let’s have dinner and shop and coffee and pie. Those are all things you can do. And get your picture taken and your hair did.

Now that that’s out of the way, let’s dig in on this house. It’s so pretty.

Right out of the gate, we know the front yard needs a little work. Okay, okay, but hang tight. Nice neutral siding and a fun lattice pattern up top. There’s a little sneak peek some stellar blue on the house to the right. FUN, RIGHT? That’s Downtown McKinney.

Open the front door and you’re so incredibly welcomed by the perfect brick fireplace flanked with two bookcases and accompanying gorgeous hardwoods that run throughout the house. The front room is spacious and you just know that back in the day, this is where they “received” guests, we do declare.

Everything in this home stays close to the era and looks crisp and fresh. In the kitchen you’ll find a freestanding range that seems a little out there until you add a perfect butcher block island.

In the utility room there’s a row of cabinets to hide your laundry detergent because no matter how hard you try, it always dribbles down the side and looks like total tacky town.

The bead board in the bathroom adds charm to a simple space. Everything is shiny and white and ready for your plush towels and fancy soaps.

If you like throwback, keep touring until you come to the room with the wood paneling. It’s a blast from the past and someone is sure to call dibs.

Out back, you’ll find a newly constructed deck with built-in benches and of course, a white picket fence.

Head up to historic downtown McKinney and take a look at this sweet little three bedroom, one-and-a-half bathroom house. You won’t regret it!
