Magical Cottage on Marquette Offers Great Location, HPISD Schools

When we pick our High Caliber Home of the Week, we look at the whole house. Obviously, it has to have a pretty face, but the interiors, lot, and location are also important. So when we saw this listing from David Griffin Realtor Robert Kucharski, we knew that it would be a hit with our loyal readers because it has the perfect alchemy of good looks, great location, and excellent schools.

First, this week’s High Caliber Home of the Week presented by Lisa Peters at Caliber Home Loans is adorable. It’s a shabby chic take on a traditional cottage and we love the color that the sellers wove into this property. Second, there’s nothing quite like a bright red front door, right? And third, it’s hard to beat the stellar locaiton, which is inside Highland Park ISD‘s Hyer Elementary attendance zone.

What I absolutely adore about this three-bedroom, two-bath cottage in the Caruth Hills neighborhood is how modest and down-to-earth it feels. You can tell that this home has been a palette for some Fixer Upper fans, as the traditional lines and modern colors definitely show off the home’s more traditional style. The designer lighting, however, offers that contemporary pivot that we all adore.

There are two living areas inside this 1952-built post-war traditional, and we love that it’s full of kid-friendly finish-out in all of its 2,110 square feet. The floor plan is perfect for families, too, with easy sightlines from the large den and kitchen to the backyard, which sports a deck and a play set, as well as a detached garage.

The master bedroom is definitely on-trend, with high-impact case goods and plenty of natural light. There’s a great Kelly green vanity in the master bath, as well as separate shower and tub.

Of course, we won’t ignore the value that lies in the lot, which is 60 feet by 140 feet. However, with land prices being what they are right now, you could easily move in and spend a few years here while you design your dream home.

Robert Kucharski of David Griffin and Company Realtors has listed 7439 Marquette for $895,000.
