Crystal Lagoon at Windsong Ranch in Prosper

Every Saturday, we feature a home in the $600,000 to $800,000 price range, and as you can imagine these homes vary as widely as their zip codes do. (We cover a lot of Dallas-area dirt around here.) But today we’re featuring homes with an unbelievable beach amenity that’s sure to send homebuyers scrambling to nab the last few homes available at Windsong Ranch in Prosper.

Windsong Ranch is a 2,030-acre master planned development located near Dallas North Tollway and U.S. Highway 380 in Prosper. Right now, a fourth of its planned homes are occupied or completed. When fully developed, Windsong Ranch will consist of 3,100 single-family homes ranging from the upper $200,000s to more than $1 million. But the headline in local media is this Caribbean-comes-to-Texas water feature that’s part of Windsong Ranch.

So, what’s the hub-bub about? My gosh, look at it. The private lagoon is 8 feet deep and the size of almost four football fields and is surrounded by white sandy beaches and hike-and-bike trails for residents. The dramatic, clear body of fresh water is perfect for a wide variety of recreational activities, including snorkeling, kayaking, paddleboarding, and yes, swimming.

Champion swimmer Michael Phelps was slated to be in Prosper last night for Crystal Lagoon’s VIP grand opening in advance of today’s first public viewing, slated 3-7 p.m. Saturday, June 29 at Windsong Ranch, 4000 Pepper Grass Lane, Prosper. (But leave your flippers at home as this is a first look, not a test drive kinda event.)

When the United States’ very first Crystal Lagoon opened early last month in Tampa, Florida, the first 400 lots of phase one were sold out less than two months after the announcement of the addition of a crystalline lagoon to the project, triggering a waiting list of over 3,000 potential buyers. This is the second lagoon in Texas (Balmoral in Humble, Texas beat us to the punch.)

But you can only enjoy the Crystal Lagoon if you live at Windsong, so here’s a look at the homes available in this Prosper community, including homes that are move-in ready by builders including American Legend Homes, Belclaire Homes, Britton Homes, Chesmar Homes, Darling Homes, Drees Custom Homes, Grenadier Homes, Highland Homes, Huntington Homes, and MainVue Homes.

Homes in this neighborhood are zoned for Prosper ISD’s Windsong Ranch Elementary, Lorene Rogers Middle School, and Prosper High School. A quarterly homeowners association fee of approximately $350 includes full use of facilities including the pool and maintenance of common areas.
