John Zimmerman Puts Pedal to Metal With Car-Centric Lifestyle Development

For a Realtor that trades in luxury real estate, John Zimmerman is hitting the accelerator. As one of Fort Worth’s leading residential agents, Zimmerman has made a name for himself marketing the biggest and the best estates in Cowtown. That’s still his milieu, but he’s also marketing something completely new to Tarrant County.

It’s the answer to some very pressing questions: What’s a guy to do when the garage of his dream house no longer fits all of his toys? What’s a guy to do when he has an empty nest and downsizes to a high-rise, condo, or townhome where parking is limited? What’s a guy to do when his car club has outgrown its current digs, but he’s ready to upgrade to a space of his own?

Those guys need Motorplace USA, Zimmerman says. “Motorplace USA is the first of its kind in Fort Worth,” he added.

Move over, man caves. For a guy with grease in his veins who loves the smell of high-octane fuel, Motorplace USA offers a place to store his car collection without the worry. It’s called an Autominium, says John Zimmerman Group agent Rob McWhirter.

“Basically, it’s a high-end car club for guys who have a lot of toys,” he said. “It’s a place for guys to go and do whatever they want with the space.”

Units at this lifestyle development start as a shell, and the sky’s the limit where finish-out is concerned.

“They can come in and finish it with whatever they want. It could have a loft, a little kitchen space, there could be a little area to hang out — really anything is possible,” McWhirter added.

The luxury lifestyle concept works especially well for car clubs and collectors, as the development will sport community space for clubs to meet in on the weekends.

A lot of the guys who are interested in a concept like this  live all over the country, McWhirter said. “It’s a place for guys to put their cars or their boats and be around other people who also share this lifestyle,” he added. “For a lot of these guys, their buddies have cars or motorcycles, too, and this is a great place for them to hang out.”

The location is especially accessible, off 820 in West Fort Worth on Las Vegas Trail. The first phase of autominiums comes on the market this early summer with about 30 units, and pre-development pricing is still available. Floor plans include two sizes — a 1,496-square-foot unit priced at $158,400 and a 1,904-square-foot unit priced at $201,600.

Craving a place to make your own rules, with a space for your toys and treasures that’s just yours — not your wife’s or your kids’? Ditch the man cave and find your own space at Motorplace USA.
